You won't believe how similar this $20 bowl set from Kmart is to a luxury $80 range

Many of us are looking for ways to elevate our home and kitchen decor with elegant and understated pieces, but are intimidated by the price tags that come with them. But what if we told you that you don’t have to spend a fortune to make your home look good?

Well, Kmart is currently the talk of the town for selling a bowl set that has an uncanny resemblance to another high-end range – and shoppers are loving it!

When we think of luxury homewares and designer finds, Kmart is not the first place that comes to mind. However, lately, the discount store has been turning heads with its chic dupes of popular, high-end items.

Luxe and Lemonade, run by Sydney-based bargain shopper Dani, alerted thousands of her followers to Kmart’s five-pack Mangiare Pasta Serve Set.

‘Look at this $20 bowl set you might need from Kmart’, Dani wrote alongside a video of her unboxing her packages.

The stylish, five-piece set features Italian words like ‘Amore’ (love), ‘Buon Appetito’ (enjoy your meal), ‘Grazie’ (thank you), and ‘Salute’ (health), just like popular In The Roundhouse products.

Unlike its high-end counterpart (which retails for $80), Kmart is selling their Mangiare Pasta Serve Set for a much more affordable $20.

The product description said that the set includes one pasta bowl (7.4 cm x 22.8 cm), and four pinch bowls (6.3 cm x 14.8 cm). It’s also microwave and dishwasher safe, perfect for lazy nights when you just want to reheat yesterday’s dinner.

It wasn’t long before Dani’s followers started tagging each other excitedly, however, it seems that the serving set is selling out quickly in some areas.

‘Everywhere seems to be out of stock already,’ lamented one user.

‘Love this, thank you, Dani!’ Said another.

Others took note of how the bowls looked more expensive than they are.

‘They kind of remind me of In The Roundhouse products,’ shared one. Someone else agreed but said: ‘Those are so much more expensive though.’

The impact of ‘dupes’ on designer items is undeniable, and this extends to the dinnerware market. These allow consumers to spend less on a stylish piece and have a similar experience as would have been afforded to them with their expensive counterparts.

In terms of innovation, the emergence of similar-yet-cheaper styles in the market constantly urges luxury brands to release fresh and new designs to remain competitive and add value to their items.

This could also open up opportunities for more affordable designer pieces, as opposed to just releasing full collections at exorbitant prices.

I agree I like plain white plates & bowls the food on the plate should be the star not the design of the crockery. These do look like pet food bowls .
