yeah, but vulnerable and elderly don't realize that so muchBanks don't do that you would have to go in person to sort that out
;et me hear you say that when you are near your ninetiesI continue to fail to understand how ANYBODY falls for these things these days given all of the public warnings
You are CONTINUALLY told NOT to click on links in emails.
If you get any sort of warning message from anybody it is most likely a scam but if in doubt contact or log into the relevant service by your usual means and NEVER by using any link in any message.
Those still being caught have lost my sympathy
Couldn't agree with you more. The point that gest to me he most. is where the Police is in all this.?It's so much more difficult to scam cash, that's why they want a cashless society.
not reletavly age related more of how the mind has developed, or moreso not developed oe fading. Thanks Thomas, and I am well on my way to my nineties, but... I don't understand how age makes one more gullible. These scams are typically via emails or sms. Any person using this method of communication must be at least to some limited extent 'tech savvy'.
If using a device for the above comms they are also likely to be reading sites such as this one where you have wisely posted your warning. Those incapable of using any device are not going to be scam victims.
Note also that there are ample examples of scam victims of much younger age and even some professionals whom you would expect to know better.
A fairly simple policy. Trust nobody, especially when they are encouraging you to take some action. Anything financially related should ring alarm bells. I mean how do parents fall for a supposed kid's message to say 'send me some cash please'. Surely a simple identity test ought to be what's my middle name or when's my birthday?
Regards, Tom (I waiting for my profile to be updated)
I note that when you call your bank they ask all sorts of questions that only you would know the answer to so that they know it is really you on the phone,Thanks Thomas, and I am well on my way to my nineties, but... I'm so near my nineties and I make sure I'm up to date with the digital age. I know it is hard for some ,but like a friend of mine she refuses to even try.As long as my mental capabilities are okay I think I will be fine;et me hear you say that when you are near your nineties
I refute that , age has nothing to do with it,my dad at 89 was as sharp as a knife I hope in one years time I'm the same. My mother in law at 84 had dementia so it's not the same for everyone;et me hear you say that when you are near your nineties
I agree that age has nothing to do with it. I am nearlly 89 and have my full faculties intact. Its only my body where I have problems. I know people of half my age who are not as alert and knowing as I am. Age is merely a number and should not be taken into consideration in anything.I refute that , age has nothing to do with it,my dad at 89 was as sharp as a knife I hope in one years time I'm the same. Yeh sure, thanks for the input Joe Biden.I agree that age has nothing to do with it. I am nearlly 89 and have my full faculties intact. Its only my body where I have problems. I know people of half my age who are not as alert and knowing as I am. Age is merely a number and should not be taken into consideration in anything.
So, does it means that Biden is extremely effected by dementia although everyone in the Democratic side, let alone another old decrepit and one sided Dr. Jill is pretending the opposite while expecting that everyone must believe her.?I refute that , age has nothing to do with it,my dad at 89 was as sharp as a knife I hope in one years time I'm the same. My mother in law at 84 had dementia so it's not the same for everyone
