Wrigley’s was the first product with a barcode

The first product to have a barcode was Wrigley’s gum. The barcode revolutionised the way products were tracked and sold. The first barcode scan occurred in 1974 at a supermarket in Ohio, with a pack of Wrigley’s gum as the first item scanned.
