Christmas is a joyous time for most of us, but it can be a stressful time if you’re not quite sure how you’re going to make ends meet.
Thankfully, Woolworths is coming to the rescue! The supermarket giant has just announced its festive range of menus that’s perfect for every family size!
Woolworths is launching not one, not two, but FOUR distinctly themed menus good for eight people, and all for $100. That means you can get yourself a festive feast for $12.50 per head.
These four different Christmas menus are offered at an affordable price to help families tackle the cost of living crisis. They will be available online in a few weeks.
The announcement of their affordable Christmas menus followed Woolworths' backflip on their decision to restrict Everyday Rewards to brick-and-mortar stores.
The Everyday Rewards program is a way Woolworths shoppers can save money on essential items through the Everyday Rewards App. Its latest improvement on the app showed a breakdown of points, so members who signed up for this program can track these points.
But in a recent story, Woolworths received backlash from its customers when its ‘Spin Surprise Feature’ was not appearing in the Everyday Rewards App. The commotion was handled by Woolworths in an attempt to make amends. Read more about the story here.
In releasing these $100 Christmas menus, Everyday Rewards General Manager Glenn Baker said, ‘This year we're up to almost a million members who have banked their points for Christmas and over a hundred dollars each in their accounts on average with some having far more than that, so it's the highest we've ever seen.’
Based on the latest survey by Deloitte, 71 per cent of retailers said they would be increasing discount rates for festive items higher than the previous year.
'We are definitely seeing customers being more concerned about their budget, and therefore making more discerning choices out how they're going to spend their money,' BIG W Marketing Director Vanessa Rowed stated.
Other supermarkets, such as Coles, will be rolling out their own Christmas range in November, and it promised to include affordable decorations and festive-themed items.
ALDI, on the other hand, has been offering its shoppers festive-themed items and treats, and its Christmas trees will be made available from Wednesday, 1 November.
Supermarkets have already stocked their shelves with festive treats as early as August, and you may wonder why they have done this so early. Spokespersons for each supermarket have their take on this issue. You can read more about the story here.
