Even though some online shoppers–who are fans of the Click & Collect feature–have their weekly groceries sorted out with little effort, they can’t deny missing out on the positive energy that the retailer’s team members radiate during interactions when shopping in-store.
But one Woolworths employee is making up for that by squeezing in good-natured banter for customers to enjoy regardless of how they prefer to shop.

Kristy, from Tasmania, was one of the shoppers who got a hold of the employee’s random surprises. She couldn’t resist sharing some of the messages on Facebook.
In one of the images that she included in the post, packets of meat can be seen with notes, reading: ‘I like steak.’ and ‘Cook me up!’
The milk was also scribbled with: ‘Lite Milk, that’s good for you.’

Kristy certainly took the messages lightheartedly, saying: ‘Thank you to whoever the awesome staff member is at Woolworths Bridgewater, they brightened my weekly shop.’
‘Not what I expected while unpacking my Click & Collect groceries, but it made my day!’
As the employee’s name remains unknown, she said that she dubbed the staff member the ‘Scribble Bandit’.
‘I love this kid. I don’t know who did it, but, keep it up! I’ve named them the “Scribble Bandit”. Woolworths, you need more employees like this staff member!’
A Woolworths spokesperson said that they’d be sharing Kristy's feedback with their online pick-up team.
‘We’re delighted to see this little gesture from our online pick-up team has brought a smile to your face and we’d like to share this with our team,’ the representative said.
What are your thoughts on the scribble bandit? Would you be delighted to receive messages on your groceries or is it considered vandalising? Let us know in the comments below!
