Woolworths shopper pokes fun at skyrocketing lettuce price and leaves thousands in hysterics with his ‘Lettuce Vuitton’ bag

Let’s face it… The soaring grocery prices have left all of us feeling a little defeated and anxious lately. But we reckon you can’t keep the Aussie spirit down - and that’s why one shopper opted to make light of the situation by making a mockery of the situation and the joke took the internet by storm.
One Woolworths customer has gone viral on TikTok after poking fun at the escalating cost of living. Recently, shoppers across the country have been bombarded with soaring prices in the supermarket, including iceberg lettuce retailing for up to $11.99 each. We guess you can say the prices have officially reached the tip of the iceberg… (sorry)
But Mason and Mai, under the TikTok username @savingforboba, have shared their hilarious take on the crisis by comparing the now costly vegetable to the high-end Louis Vuitton designer bag.
In the clip captioned ‘How to flex (millennial slang for ‘showing off’ about something) in an Australian supermarket’, the shopper can be seen grabbing a head of lettuce and shoving it into a plastic bag. As he struts away, the camera pans to the plastic bag with a scribbled note attached to it, reading: “Lettuce Vuitton”.

Since being posted, the gag racked up more than 720,000 views as well as thousands of likes and comments.
Several users didn’t shy away from sharing their own witty takes, with one teasing: “You forgot the Gucci Zucchini.”
“I’m gonna call it ‘Chanelettuce’!” chimed another, tagging a friend in the comments.
“Is anyone able to get Coriander Prada?” asked a third.
A fourth added: “Haha! What about the Tomato Ford?”
“I just bought ‘Hermes’ tomatoes. They didn’t even taste nice.” commented another.
Since there’s not a lot we can do to improve the soaring prices, lettuce keep an eye out for more ways to save every penny (and maybe find the humour in it when we can).
