Seeing as I don't have a Big W within cooee of here there is no way I'm going to benefit from in store purchases so there goes 50% of my chance of any savings.
Spending $75 on a shop these days isn't difficult as you only have to blink and you've spent $100, that bit doesn't really bother me but missing out on bonus points means that a lot of people are going to have Christmas curtailed as that's what they saved their points for. 😟
 
on top of that Woolies is now the most expensive supermarket over Coles and Aldi and they have removed the Qantas Frequent Flyer benefits and canceled the Qantas Woolworths Visa Cards. An annual fee of $70 overrides any small rewards they now offer. So they continue to make massive profits and expand and reduce any benefits they offer their customers. I worked for the company for over 20 years and have always shopped there, but no more.

Once upon a time there were check-out chicks AND bag-filler chicks at every til and there were no DIY machines . Then the bag-filler chicks disappeared. Then they came for the check-out chicks and half the tills were not used. Then they sacked the lot and we had to queue to get access to a DIY machine and di unpaid work for Woolworths (and Coles) (and BigW).

Very disappointed with this decision by woolies. At a time when we are all struggling to make ends meet. The increase in the annual fee is quite steep and the same old " pay more, get less" scenario. Woolies you are out of touch. I am re-considering my membership.
 
At least with the opposition rewards you don't have to spend your rewards dollars all at once. I have always questioned this at Woolies, can't just go in and buy 3ltrs of milk when you need it or just a loaf of bread have to spend the lot not fair.

The loyalty cards are a joke. Merely another means to lure the customer into the stores - never used them and never will. In fact, I never shop at either of them and haven't done so for over 10 years. I simply stand on the outside watching the gullible shoppers.
 
Because I have our mobile phone with Woolworths they gave me 10% off every month.
Now they tell me I have to shop in store to get it - no I won't be doing that - we shop online because we can't handle it anymore.
My husband has stage 4 Parkinson's and I have had 2 spinal ops and facing another one, so online for us.
As we are rural we can't have our orders delivered so pickup is how we do it - so sorry Woolworths you have just lost me.
If they are going to penalise those of us in our later years for using something they promoted to keep us "safe" during covid and the flu season - shows the bottom line is of more interest and I have told them that in my contact with them.
 
EXCEPTIONALLY Greedy and unprofessional community and corporate behaviour from Woolworths!
Those who signed up to the COSTED loyalty programme did so for a variety of reasons!
1. At Woolworths invitation/incentive ????
2. Families are hurting financially.
3. Elders, immune compromised, working parents and time poor others needed the minimal time and social contact element of online shopping.
Of course loyalties will be redirected and subscriptions will be cancelled; though it would be interesting to see the ethics and legality of this deception legally tested ???

I have no one to take me or shop for me so people like me already miss out on instore markdowns, struggle to afford delivery fees and so many items essential to me (like their fresh ready-made meals) are now only available in-store. No point me wasting more money on a non-existent "Rewards" program.
It breaks my heart & fuels the feelings of helplessness and desperation when companies like this hold a monopoly on essential services and show no regard for their most vulnerable customers.

Once again, the most disadvantaged in our community are discriminated against. I have to shop online, I can't physically get to the store or walk around a supermarket. I have no one to take me or shop for me so people like me already miss out on instore markdowns, struggle to afford delivery fees and so many items essential to me (like their fresh ready-made meals) are now only available in-store. No point me wasting more money on a non-existent "Rewards" program.
It breaks my heart & fuels the feelings of helplessness and desperation when companies like this hold a monopoly on essential services and show no regard for their most vulnerable customers.
