Woolworths expands COOK range with six new slow-cooked dishes for busy Aussies

As the crisp chill of winter begins to settle across Australia, there's nothing quite like the comfort of a slow-cooked meal to warm the soul.

But let's face it, not everyone has the luxury of spending hours in the kitchen, meticulously preparing a hearty stew or a succulent roast.

Recognising this, Woolworths has ingeniously bridged the gap between our love for slow-cooked flavours and our often hectic lifestyles with their latest culinary innovation.

Introducing the new additions to the Woolworths COOK range: six slow-cooked style meals that promise to deliver all the richness and depth of flavour you'd expect from traditional slow cooking but in a fraction of the time.

Starting at just $3.25 per serve, these meals are a game-changer for time-poor home cooks who don't want to compromise on taste or quality.

The COOK range, already popular among Woolworths shoppers, is expanding to include these convenient options, catering to the 86 per cent of customers who relish the process and results of slow cooking.

Now, with cooking times ranging from 10 to 45 minutes, you can indulge in the slow-cooked experience without the wait.

The new products include the following:
Each mouth-watering meal is designed for convenience. It can be cooked on the stovetop, microwave, or oven; some are ready in under 10 minutes.

Woolworths Food Developer Carmen Garcia understands the importance of a flavorful, easy and budget-friendly dinner.

‘Whether our customers have 10 or 45 minutes, access to an oven, air-fryer, or stove, we’ve curated easy and budget-friendly meal solutions to help them get a flavourful dinner on the table.’ he said.

‘During winter, we know that customers enjoy hearty meals like roasts, beef briskets, and slow-cooked stews, filling homes with comforting aromas, so we’ve launched these products just in time for the colder months.’

In line with Woolworths’ commitment to supporting local producers, all the meat used in these meals is sourced from Australian farmers.

This ensures the freshness and quality of the ingredients and supports the local economy.

The COOK range's packaging has also been refreshed. It now features clear indications of cooking times, methods, serving sizes, and suggestions to assist with meal planning.

With 19 slow-cooked-style products and 65 in the COOK range overall, Woolworths has seen a significant increase in demand, with double-digit growth since last year.

The expanded slow-cooked product range's top-selling items include the COOK Slow-Cooked Butterflied Beef (700g) and the COOK Slow-Cooked Chicken Breast in Creamy Mushroom Sauce (700g).

Add my neighbours and I and a couple of friends all single to the “lazy and proud” club.🤣so stick up where the sun don’t shine v.p.👅👅👅👅
Not everyone is lazy. I have more than enough to do to fill my days.
I have a large garden and a large home. Keeping both tidy, while caring for my daughter and constant long trips for her medical appointments, along with pets to look after doesn't leave me much spare time
I do a fair bit of bulk cooking when I can find the time, but if these new Woolies meals can save me some time, so that I can actually have some"me" time then I will be more than happy
If that makes me lazy then so be it, lol.

ok Veggiepatch I admit to being lazy ! There is just me what is the point of cooking meals ? I do often but also often I will make do with something on toast. So I find when it’s affordable I’ll get a few ready made meals usually add a packet of steam fresh veggies and know I’ve had a reasonable meal. Yes LAZY and proud of it 🤣🤣🤣
You should feel sorry for veggie as he had to work between 1998 and 2000.

Selective reading raises it ugly head. The period mentions the TIME FRAME that my ex wife was recovering from her injuries, not my total work history, as you imply. Read something in its entirety, not what you want to cherry pick to suit your agenda for false arguments.

Well I don’t know about this story. After looking at Woolworths online site and searching for Slow Cooked Meals there were only 3 products @ $20 , $14 , and one that was $13 but now $11.50.
Maybe I will have to go in and look for myself .
