Woolies just dropped something new—and everyone wants one

If you’ve ever found yourself at the self-checkout, juggling a trolley-load of groceries while wrestling with a floppy, uncooperative bag, you’re not alone.

For years, shoppers across Australia have been muttering under their breath as they try to keep their bags open with one hand and scan their groceries with the other.

But now, Woolworths has come to the rescue with a brand new bag that’s got everyone talking—and for good reason!

Woolworths has just launched its latest reusable bag collection, and it’s already causing a stir among shoppers of all ages.

The new ‘Click & Stay’ bags are designed with a clever mechanism that clicks into place at the top, keeping the bag wide open while you pack your groceries. No more awkward balancing acts or bags collapsing just as you’re trying to load in your milk and bread!

But it’s not just the practicality that’s got people excited. These bags are also a celebration of all things Aussie, featuring three delightful designs inspired by our most beloved icons.

Whether you’re a fan of the cheeky ‘Cockatoo & Wattle’, the nostalgic ‘Coffee & Finger Bun’, or the playful ‘Famous Aussie Things’ (think fairy bread, quokkas, and the iconic Hills Hoist), there’s a bag to suit every personality.

Take a closer look and you’ll spot famous locations like Cape Byron Lighthouse, the Bungle Bungles, and The Dish at Parkes. It’s a little slice of Australia you can carry with you, whether you’re heading to the supermarket, the beach, or a family picnic.

Rhonda Ma, Woolworths’ resident bag expert, summed it up perfectly.

‘We really wanted to bring a bit of fun to our latest bag design, celebrating what makes Australia special with classic Aussie icons and that 'if you know, you know' charm. These bags are designed for life beyond the supermarket—they’re functional and durable for everyday use.’

Let’s be honest, self-checkout can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you’re shopping solo or have a big haul. The new Click & Stay bags are a game-changer, especially for those who use the Scan & Go feature.

The click mechanism means the bag stays open, making it so much easier to pack your groceries quickly and efficiently.

Sydney mum Liz gave the bags a test run and was full of praise: ‘I thought the bags were good and sturdy. They are large, so the first time I used them I filled them up and then struggled carrying them back to the car—be warned! The click part is great. They held open and made packing the bags at the self-checkout much easier than the floppy green bags, and they are definitely stronger than the paper bags. The designs are nice, I liked the 'Aussie Icons' one!’

At just $4 each, these bags are not only practical but also affordable. They’re built to last, so you can use them for your weekly shop, a day at the beach, or even as a handy carry-all for your next picnic or family outing. And with their eye-catching designs, you’ll be the envy of everyone in the checkout line.

Let’s not forget the environmental benefits. By choosing reusable bags, you’re helping to reduce single-use plastic waste and do your bit for the planet.

The Click & Stay bags are rolling out in Woolworths stores across the country this week. With all the buzz, we wouldn’t be surprised if they sell out quickly—so if you want to get your hands on one (or all three!), don’t wait too long.
