Woolies and Cadbury team up to create a hot-cross bun that is next level indulgent!

As Easter season draws near, Woolies is coming through with their promise of bringing us even more creative flavours for their popular hot cross buns.

Last month, they partnered with Cadbury to share with us the limited-edition Caramilk hot cross buns, which went flying off the shelves! And now, in another collaboration with Cadbury, their most recent release is set to quickly run out, due to its “taste combination” like no other.

Introducing – rum and raisin hot cross buns!

Since the flavour’s debut on Woolies shelves last week, the limited-edition Easter treat has sold tremendously well.

The indulgent rum and raisin hot cross buns are made with Cadbury Old Gold dark chocolate, coupled with locally-sourced ingredients, such as juicy Australian rum-soaked raisins.

So for those who prefer their chocolates dark and bold, this exciting new flavour is perfect for you!

The new hot cross buns are available in packs of four for only $3.50 and can be bought in-store or online.

According to Jason McQuaid, Woolworths commercial director of bakery, more than half of Aussies are looking for indulgent hot cross buns ahead of the Easter season.

“It’s a taste combination like no other and we think our customers who are looking to treat themselves with a bolder flavour profile are going to enjoy this delicious new hot cross bun,” he added.

But if you’re looking for more flavourful combinations for the classic Easter snack, Woolworths is still offering their apple and cinnamon hot cross bun, which returned to shelves last year.

Or if you’re craving something more fruity and classic, check out their Richly Fruited hot cross buns, which contain Australian-grown vine fruits.

And for our friends who are looking for a gluten-free alternative, check out Woolies’ Free From range, which is offering three hot cross buns flavours: choc, fruit, and fruitless.

Guess we will see you in the hot cross bun section of Woolies then!

It's bad enough that the large supermarkets start selling Hot Cross buns straight after Christmas without making them all these strange flavours. If people want all these different flavoured buns why not have them all year round with ordinary names and save traditional Hot Cross buns just for the few days of Easter.

they should remove the crosses and call them "not cross buns"

LOVED the Caramilk ones, but because demand was too great, Woolworths deleted it!
Rum & Raisin ones are certainly not as good!
