Wooden thread spools

Remember those wooden thread spools with nails you used in school? The Knitting Nancy! Back then, kids used them for French knitting, making bracelets and coasters. Do you still have any of your old knitting tools or creations? Share your memories with us!

In my home and lots of my friends homes it was called “Tom Boy Stitch”….never ever heard it called Knitting Nancy!!
I made my mum a very colourful bathmat, for Mother’s Day when I was ten years old….she said “she loved it” 🥰
 
LOL. I'm actually in the process of making a belt for a jacket using this method as we speak.
Taught my children and granddaughter how to use one of these as well.
