The following day, Annabel had to incur an additional expense of $35 for an Uber trip back to the Brisbane terminal. To her dismay, she discovered that her rescheduled flight was further delayed, prolonging her arduous journey.

Eventually arriving in Sydney, she was faced with an unforeseen charge of $63 for overnight parking due to the unplanned layover.



In response to the incident, a Jetstar spokesperson expressed their apologies for the inconvenience caused to passengers, including Selby-Jones, due to the cancellation of her flight. The spokesperson attributed the cancellation to the sudden illness of a crew member.

According to the spokesperson, affected customers were promptly rescheduled on the next available flight. The quicker that leach Allan Joyce is gone the better for this Airline and country!
 
Unfortunately budget seems to equate with a no service/assistance mentality. Passengers who may need some assistance should be given it. Likewise this lady is already feeling upset because of the funeral - she did not need Jetstar to make things feel even worse. Sadly it seems this scenario with the airlines has been and undoubtedly will be repeated. We the travelling public need to make our feelings known and loudly. I was told many years ago a letter to the CEO cannot be ignored - unlike emails and texts. So I would recommend the old fashioned way of writing a letter - it could also be a great idea when something has been done that was good and far outweighed your expectations.
 
Yet another federal talkfest is proposed - enough "investigation" - to quote Nike "just do it"
 
I dont think we are getting the entire story here, like day, time and where she ended up. Ms Selby-Jones, a communication executive was stranded in Brisbane, if she was this displeased she could have gone to any of the other airlines and flown to Sydney quite easily and then taken Jetstar on for reimbursement of her ticket. The hotel only had nuts, I'm sure she could have ordered in, there are lots of places around Brisbane with food all night. Hotels supply soap and stuff for when you get caught out, water, fresh towels to dry after a shower, me I always carry a small toiletries pack in my carry on. Sh*t happens, why haven't we heard a saga from any one else on this flight from hell if this was all that bad.

Yes, my son is frequently flying interstate and overseas with Qantas and this cancellation of flights has become a big problem for him. If this continues, Australians may have to ditch traveling with Australian Airlines. This may be the end of an era for Australian Airlines.

I had to travel on Jetstar from Brisbane to Sydney. I had a ton tendon in my right shoulder and had to wear a sling. I am right handed. I asked the hostess would she please help me put by bag up above. She refused.
You should have left your luggage in the aisle, I bet they would have been very quick to place it in the overhead locker but then again I assume you were not one of those people who pack all of their luggage into a large bag with the intention to missing the luggage carousel after you arrive at your destination. It is about time airlines started to enforce their regulations regarding travelers taking large bags onboard.
 
Maybe Bonza should put flights on the same route as Jetstar. Then and only then Jetstar might do something.
Even better, people should start using ScootPlus for their international flights instead of paying thousands of dollars for a couple of meals and flight entertainment which is the only area where the major airlines are better but definitely not with staff as Scoot Airlines exceed all of the other airlines in their staffing superiority.
