Woman draws flak for wearing bikini in public – is it appropriate or not?

Folks, we want to know how you would respond in this situation: you’re casually strolling around a city, and all of a sudden, you come across a woman who is clad in nothing but a skimpy black thong bikini. Would you be shocked and upset, or would you just keep walking without saying anything?

After being spotted taking a stroll down the street in a revealing black thong bikini, a woman has become the subject of heated debate on several social media platforms. The bikini-clad woman was caught on camera walking down the street in Valletta, Malta's capital city, while wearing sneakers and carrying a backpack.

As the woman minded her own business, as seen in the footage, not one person she came across the street even batted an eyelid about what she was wearing or doing. However, on the internet, it was a whole different story.

More than a thousand comments were left on the video when it was shared on a local Maltese Facebook group, with many debating whether it was appropriate for the woman to be out in public wearing a bikini.

Many people criticised the woman, claiming that her behaviour was disrespectful and that there are appropriate settings for various types of clothing.

'Do as you please, it's a free world but respect our laws…' one user wrote in the comments, while a second person added: 'That's okay for the beach but not in our historical respectful capital city.'

'Have some respect, woman. Hope she got fined,' said a third, with a fourth adding, 'Absolutely disgraceful.'

While some people were offended by the woman's decision to wear a bikini in public, others saw no problem with it.

'I don't see any disaster, she just came out from the beach probably in a rush,' one user wrote in response to the other comments.

'She didn't do anything wrong,' another user said, with a third arguing: 'There are worse things in life. Lots of buildings, corruption, and this is annoying you? Everyone is jealous of everyone else. How about mind your business and let people live.'

Not only is it against the law in Malta to be nude in public, but so is being 'indecently clad' or wearing swimwear further than 100 metres from the shore—this is stated in Article 338(q) of the country's Criminal Code.

However, Lovin Malta, a local news outlet, noted that the definition of 'indecent' is ambiguous and open to discussion, and the rule is rarely implemented.

So what do you think, folks? Do you believe it was reasonable for the other viewers to condemn the woman for wearing 'inappropriate' clothing in public? Or is this just another case of 'to each their own'? Share your opinions with us in the comments section!

At first I thought it must be photoshopped; a woman of those obviously young years NOT covered in tattoos??? Been a long time since such was seen here!
True that is a rare but much more pleasant perspective. Shame so many lovely young people cover their bodies in awful permanent markings and hide their true beauty. Seems to be an insecurity trait, I think. :(

All the Dudley Do Rights at it again. Don't like it...don't look but don't force your opinions on everyone else especially by confronting them when you don't know the circumstances.. It's their choice.

Much as I wouldn't normally object at all to something like this. 👍 There is a time and place for it. And walking down a street in an old historic town like Valletta isn't one of them. As in the attached photo, the shaded yellow area is the town. Seems a bit away from any beach to be walking around dressed like that.🤔

However, I would need to see a view from the front just to make a final opinion. 😁

A bikini is beach wear, and she is not at the beach.

Some things look good on some and pretty awful on others. Firstly she's breaking the laws of that country, secondly she'd look better in a dress. I'm sorry if I offend but she's not the right person to be wearing that skini (skimpy bikini).
I wish she was fully undressed Lol naked Hahaha

In most of European beach areas, women walk about with nothing more than their swimwear. Nobody feels that’s wrong.
In my opinion, it’s a lack of decency and dignity. Most women these days leave little to imagination 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
