Woman donates kidney to boyfriend – 7 months later, he cheats on her

Donating an organ is a life-changing decision (not to mention, potentially fatal too!) and not everyone is ready to make the move. It takes real selflessness and generosity to do.
That’s why you can only imagine the shock this one woman went through when she gave her dying boyfriend one of her kidneys, only for him to cheat on her and dump her months after.

In a series of TikTok videos, Colleen Le told the story of how her ex-boyfriend allegedly cheated on her months after she donated her own kidney to help save his life.
According to Colleen, her ex-boyfriend was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease when he was a teenager, which resulted in his kidney function dropping to less than 5 per cent, and he had been on dialysis ever since.
And since she “didn’t want to watch him die”, she decided to get tested whether she was a match for the transplant.
The test results showed that they were a match, so she proceeded to donate one of her kidneys to improve her ex-boyfriend’s life.

But seven months after the life-changing surgery, Colleen found out that her boyfriend cheated on her while at a Vegas bachelor party with his “church” friends.
“He was a hardcore Christian so I didn't worry at all,” she recalled.
The situation snowballed into a lot of arguments between the couple, but Colleen eventually forgave the guy and gave him a second chance.
However, it was three months after the cheating incident that Colleen was officially dumped by her boyfriend.
Apparently, he broke up with her over the phone and proceeded to block her on all social media platforms. He also stopped responding to calls and text messages, leaving Colleen completely cut off.
To make matters even worse, she was told by her then-boyfriend that she only donated her kidney “to look good”.

The rollercoaster drama of her video series went viral and has gained a ton of attention online, and most people were shocked, speechless even, by the ex-boyfriend’s actions.
Even though Colleen has already moved on from the incident, thousands of comments supported her and added humour to the unfortunate cheating situation.
“Take it back, he doesn’t deserve it,” wrote one woman, while another added: “WE NEED A REFUND POLICY.”
A third person joked, “Don't worry he'll always have a piece of you, literally.”
Meanwhile, one person advised in the comments section to never donate your organs to your boyfriend or girlfriend, and added: “Don’t make a permanent decision on a temporary emotion.”
If you’re curious about what it's like to live with only one kidney, health experts say that donors usually do not see any changes in their quality of life. Like Colleen, they can still do what they usually do before the transplant.
