Wife's passive-aggressive way of teaching her husband a lesson goes viral: "I do A LOT for this family"

A frustrated woman has used social media to rant about her lazy husband and to show the rest of the world how she does all the work around the house, including cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, and even paying the bills.

In a series of videos posted on TikTok, the woman claimed she stopped doing the household chores and cleaning their home to convince her husband that she was overworked and underappreciated.

Since the woman wishes to maintain her privacy when writing her posts, we will refer to her only as "Mrs M" in this article.

Mrs M's dilemma at home began when her husband accused her of being "lazy" when, in fact, she was the only one doing the household chores. "You never do anything around the house," her husband said.

In response, she argued that if everyone pitched in to help her with the chores, their home would always look "clean and neat" like how the husband always wants it to be. In spite of this, he continued to refute the allegations and claimed that "none of them" were really to blame for the mess.

After hearing her husband make this remark, Mrs M decided to create another TikTok video to actually prove just how messy her husband can be at home.

It can be seen in the video clip above, that her husband can be quite the "manchild," as evidenced by the mountainous amounts of dirty laundry and snack bags that were strewn about the hallway.

So she conducted a little "experiment" just to make him realise that she's been doing all the chores in their house – for a few weeks, she stopped cleaning around their home and putting away dirty laundry in their rooms.

"I hope he realises that I do A LOT for this family," she wrote in the video.

Soon enough, their home was piled high with rubbish and dirty clothes in almost every corner.

It goes without saying that Mrs M's domestic war of attrition was not well received by her slacker husband, who allegedly "freaked out and started throwing away" her cleaning supplies.

"He said I wouldn't need it because I don't clean anymore," the caption read.

After this, the husband went to Europe for three weeks "to visit his mother" according to Mrs M's subsequent video. She said him leaving for a while made her "the happiest person ever," seeing now that she can enjoy and appreciate a peaceful and quiet home.

The story of Mrs M struck a chord with hundreds of thousands of users on TikTok, the majority of whom advised her to "divorce" her husband in light of the damage he had caused to both her and their home.

One woman wrote in the comments section, "If you’re finding this much peace in his absence maybe you’re better off on your own," with a second one agreeing and adding, "He clearly does not respect you. Have the divorce papers for when he comes home."

A third user joined the conversation and added, "For the love of God, I’ve seen all of her videos and PLEASE just divorce him, the red flags can't get any redder."

Although it is still unknown as of this writing whether Mrs M actually filed for divorce, she did mention that she was doing "a lot better" now that it is just her and her son living in their home.

Members, in your opinion, do you think Mrs M handled the situation appropriately given the circumstances? And what would you have done differently in the situation if you were in her shoes?

Did she do the gardening, wash the car, do the exterior and interior maintenance, I doubt it,
Probably not but how often do these things need doing? Certainly not daily like housework. A marriage is supposed to be a partnership, she's not asking him to do it all, just share the load a little more equitably.:)

It sounds like a very complex situation. There are obviously cultural differences, a lack of acknowledgement and understanding between Mr and Mrs M. I wonder how much master M contributes and my guess would be not a lot. Like father like son.

No doubt she didn't do all the domestic duties daily remember doing the laundry involves stuffing it in a machine pressing go and walking away whereas he no doubt travelled each day to his place of work, undertook 8 or 10 hrs work and then travelled home while she was either watching her favourite daytime tv show or visiting friends, let's put this into proportion.

Is that what you really think? There are always domestic chores to do. I guess the clothes hang themselves on the line to dry, jump off again, fold and iron themselves and jump into their rightful place all be themselves. Meanwhile Mrs M is having a jolly old time having lunch with wine with her friends. The daily dishes are also taking care of themselves as the hundreds of other chores that need to be taken care of whilst Mr M is at work doing a 7.5 hour day unless he is self employed, eating lunch and snacks that no doubt Mrs M has packed for him after she shopped for the ingredients and put them all together. Get real Ian. Staying at home and looking after a family by yourself is hard work.

I would have employed a cleaner, booked into a hotel for a week and sent him the bill to pay. We are worth way more than that.

Sounds like you’re a clone of Mr. M!

Sorry Ian - must try to bring you into the current century. Your attitude and Mr M's went our 70 years ago in the 1950's along with the Stepford Wives syndrome. remember if you sit still for too long, you will ossify - just like the dinosaurs!

It depends if she has a full time employment or not. If she doesn't, then it is her job to clean and cook and do laundry.
