Where did the Wine and Beer Advent Calendars go? ALDI shoppers are baffled

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun! We’re sure you can feel the merriment in the air as shops release their festive products.

And while many are excited to get their hands on limited-edition items this holiday season, some shoppers were left confused when one of their favourite buys seemed to disappear from shelves.

ALDI’s advent calendars have always been a popular gift choice for Aussies – whether they give or receive one. But shoppers visiting ALDI noticed that some of their favourite Wine and Beer Christmas Advent Calendars are nowhere to be found.

These advent calendars have been a cult favourite with shoppers since 2018. The supermarket giant has released no less than five boozy buys in the past – including a 24-day wine, two gin, and two beer varieties released last year – and they always fly off the shelves.

And while the supermarket giant released a range of other advent calendars – including beauty, home, and confectionery – customers noticed that there are no wine varieties. ALDI only released one alcoholic variation: the Christmas Beer Advent Calendar.

The ALDI Christmas Beer Advent Calendar went on sale last November 11 and features 24 different beers from all over the world, such as Peroni Red from Italy, Amstel Beer from The Netherlands, and Kronenbourg from France.

Since people traditionally open the 24-day wine advent calendar on December 1, it would appear there's little chance of the Christmas buy appearing on ALDI shelves.

The confusing situation came to light as many ALDI shoppers were looking forward to counting down the days to Christmas with the boozy buys. Many then turned to Facebook to voice their opinions.

‘Are ALDI doing the wine advent calendars again this year?’ Asked one woman.

Another replied: ‘Last year we missed out so I am keeping a closer watchful eye this year. Does anyone know when the beer and wine advent calendars are released?’

A third asked if they’ve ‘completely missed’ the wine and beer advent calendars, and hoped they haven’t been released yet.

‘Does anyone know if I should be able to search for availability in the app?’ Someone else asked. They went on to add that the wine varieties don’t show up when they search for them.

While there’s no word from ALDI on the lack of boozy advent calendars, the retail store and supermarket released its Ultimate Gift Guide for shoppers to snap up presents for their loved ones.

What I DIDN'T LIKE was Aldi increasing the price of their popular Scotch Finger Biscuits from 98cents to $1.49, about a 50% increase.
Price gouging. there is no way this amount of increase can be justified.

Aldi this year is rather poor with Christmas goods. Either they didn’t offer or the goods are delayed. I live in Canberra and still waiting for the delayed goods😡
