When you get a call from your "bank"

I have just received a call, recorded message, from a mobile no purporting to be from my bank which told me about a transaction of $xxx.xx and depending on my "reaction to press a certain no, or to call the number given.
NO NO NO
I never ever do anything except hang up - the same with text messages.
Even emails purporting to come from my bank, which I do get for credit card statements - but I awlays gio direct to my on-line banking, never directly through the email, even though one bank does have the statement attached.
The other thing I do is when getting a call from an unknown number I always answer in a weird accent and only once the caller is identified as genuine will I speak normally. - in which case I explain the weird accent which usually gets a laugh.

I sometimes pretend to be the maid (that I should be so lucky). My phone only rings for 15 seconds so I often dont answer it so if my friends/genuine businesses leave a message and I call back - no message just delete and block.

All text messages containing a link get deleted even if appearing to be from a government department. Unless I am expecting a call from the police or Centrelink, I will not answer phone calls from private numbers.

"When you get a call..." answer the phone and if there is no answer IMMEDIATELY then hang up. It is a computer doing the calling. They won't call back. I had a call once from a similar scam and hung up but the person at the end of the line was very insistent and called again. So I put the phone down and let him talk to himself. They do go away to look for someone more gullible and easier to persuade.
Remember as well that if something does happen and you realise it soon enough you used to be able to use the F2 key to restore your last version of your program.. That has saved me on a previous occasion.

Sorry - please explain the use of the F2 key in more detail.
I am under the impression that if something like this happens then the previous starting place of your current computor session can be called back using the F2 key. It got me out of a hole some eight or so years ago and I assume it is still usable? Ask your computer expert and see what they say
