When words vanish live on air…Kyle’s stroke scare delivered a chilling warning you can’t ignore

Kyle Sandilands’ sudden absence has left fans questioning what really happened.

The shock came only days after he alarmed listeners by saying he may have suffered a ‘stroke’ live on-air.

Now, concerns are mounting as details of his health struggles continue to surface.

The radio star was missing from the broadcast of his KIIS FM breakfast program, just two days after an unsettling moment in which he admitted he felt something was wrong.

During another episode, Sandilands appeared disoriented as he repeatedly stumbled over his words.

After fumbling, he told his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson: ‘I think I’ve had a stroke. I feel that I’ve said the wrong words multiple times this morning, and I’m not super tired.’

Henderson quickly tried to reassure him, responding: ‘No, you haven’t.’

A producer then pointed out to listeners that Sandilands had mixed up the word ‘mattock’ with ‘Matlock’, fuelling concerns about his health.

The incident came after the 53-year-old revealed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm alongside other medical issues.

His health battles have been a recurring theme in recent months, particularly as he opened up about his struggles with weight gain.

Just last month, Sandilands confessed that physical activity had become increasingly difficult after putting on 12kg in the past year, bringing his weight to 138kg.

‘I’m 138, I thought I was massive. I’ve been a bit … I don’t know whether “depressed” is the word? Ever since this aneurysm thing came up a year ago,’ he admitted.

‘I brushed it off inside. My wife is on me about it, asking if I would like to come for a walk with her and (their son) Otto. I would like to, but just too fat and lazy to go.’

Despite his concerns, he also admitted he had little interest in overhauling his diet.

‘I also use an opportunity to eat a packet of chicken and biscuits! I know I’m doing myself in,’ he told listeners.

He added that he had undergone a round of medical scans earlier this week and was awaiting results.

In a moment of dark humour, Sandilands floated the idea of creating a weight-loss support group if his results gave him the all-clear.

‘I did all these scans yesterday, haven’t got the results yet. If I’m good, then I will put together a club, “Kyle’s Big Fatso Club”, where I want others to join me in my slow march to healthiness. Who is with me?’ he said.

Moments like Kyle’s on-air stroke scare are a powerful reminder of how quickly health can change.

While his story sparked concern, it also highlights the importance of knowing what we can do to lower our own risks.

I thought after his last scare he had turned his life around.

Hopefully now he does !

I wish him well

I was never a Kyle fan until the past year since transitioning from 3AW. He has opened my eyes and heart and I have found him to be a genuine, supportive and caring individual. I’m 65 and not in great shape, which upon hearing this news has been an eye opener. I wish him all the best with his health and will say a little prayer tonight

Stroke: the acronym FAST is a quick way to remember the warning signs: Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call emergency services

Kerry Peck a radio announcer in NSW suffered a heart attack on air during his breakfast show.....he survived thanks to a smart listener I think it was calling an Ambulance....long long time ago. Sorry Kyle, your not that special.

We are all aging and all experiencing increasing medical issues or major life changes. Irrespective off liking a person / persona there is no space to suggest anything but the best for someone. It could be us one day and we would be seeking a kindness.

Just a ploy to get sympathy as no one in Victoria listens to the big mouthed arrogant pig

Kyle will do anything for attention.

I hope Kyle wakes up to himself with this scare.
I never liked him and I have a long memory of him and his stupid woman side kick way back when a 12-13 yo girl rang them up to say that she was raped. The talk of the day was what it was like first time for sex.
The stupid woman sidekick then asked the girl was it good for you? Then silence, then oh so sorry, put her on hold to get the young girl help.
Both of them should of been sacked and banned from broadcasting for that.

Bruce C I see you are in fine form again

I can't be a hypocrite and fake concern. I can't stand the man or his ignoramus partner. Surely his GP must have told him he is leading an unhealthy lifestyle if he is that much overweight. However, he comes across as an arrogant know-it-all so I guess he would disregard any advice given. As for the brain aneurysm he was diagnosed with - I have some scepticism about that, because he has said in the past that he was also diagnosed with a "chest" aneurysm not long after the brain aneurysm.🤔

I wonder how many of you have actually listened to him !! He has actually helped a lot of people including a friend of my daughters. She was doing it stuff and was basically homeless. He paid the bond and 12 months rent on a unit plus furniture it.

I'm guessing all of you who are knocking him have never ever done anything wrong, And you help others.

What's that old saying 🤔 oh yeh, "Let him who is sin free cast the first stone"

Hitler was nice to dogs.

I don't like him and don't listen to him being over here in the west. But it goes to show all the money in the world and in his case as well, health scares doesn't give him common sense to do something about it. Give up the junk food, start taking small walks with his family and he would be surprised at the improvements to his health. Baby steps but he has to want it. All talk and no action isn't going to cut it.

I've never listened to Kyle, or ever will.
I've heard really good things which he has done for others.
So, taking that into account, we wish him well with his recovery.

I know a lady who had a stroke and didn't realize something was wrong until something "spat" on the stove, she had something and realized her voice didn't sound right. She later completely lost her speech and could only say a few words - not one sentence.

Kyle is NEVER nice.
I've actually had a conversation with him in person and a couple of times. He was actually very nice.
His ex wife Tamara would come in to buy formal gowns where I worked and she was hard work.
He would drop her off then come back to pick her up and would ask me how it went and would actually apologise for her.
He was very down to earth and very polite. We actually commented after they left that he deserved better than Tamara
