What would YOU do if every treat you bought kept mysteriously vanishing?

AIBU, which stands for 'Am I Being Unreasonable', is the perfect platform for sharing your thoughts and opinions! So, for today's AIBU discussion, we have this story from Reddit/kmklover:

'So this all started a year ago (I'm not gonna say my age but I live with my parents).

So my mum (53 F) went food shopping she bought some biscuits. After 15 mins of her getting home with them, I went down stairs because I had a sweet tooth.'

'I looked in the cupboard and they was gone along with some food I bought for me and my friends later that night.

I asked my mum where she put them, she told me she hasn't moved them.'

So I went and asked my dad (62 M) where he moved them, he got all defensive and said "I didn't know I'm not allowed to eat things in my house."'

'I thought he would stop but I was wrong. A few months later I bought some sweets, I put them away.

'When it came time for a movie I bought them for, I went to get them but again they was gone.

I asked my dad and he said the same thing. This happened at least 5 more times costing me and my mum $112 in total.'

'We had enough so we came up with an idea, anything we bought we hid in the vegetable drawer.

'When you open it you only see vegetables, after a month of this, he started getting really angry about nothing to snack on and that we are being selfish.

So, am I being unreasonable?'

I used to hide my treats away from my siblings, but I was caught out by mum. For what even reason known only to her she decided to put my ironing away and discovered my stash, she did enjoy them but was kind enough to leave a very nice note saying, "Thank you - the ghost who walks".

Your father is a liar - plain and simple. No doubt if he had owned up in the first place you could have come to some arrangement As it is, perhaps he should put his hands in his pockets and buy replacement goodies for you and your mum instead. If not, too bad so sad!

It is normally the kids that help themselves to the treats, not the parents.
