What was the last country to be discovered?

New Zealand holds a unique distinction in human history: it was the last major habitable landmass on Earth to be discovered and permanently settled by humans.

Long after every other sizable piece of land had been claimed, Aotearoa remained untouched—until the arrival of the Polynesians (ancestors of the Māori) around 1200-1300 CE. It truly was the final frontier of human migration.
