What has been the highlight of your year so far?

Members, we're halfway through the year! And that left me wondering, what has been the highlight of your year so far? Mine has been the friendship I've developed with my fellow newsletter writers Vella and Jarred.

I can't emphasise how much these two have helped me become a better writer, team member, and person! If I'm being honest, I've always been slightly afraid of being vulnerable, which in turn, has led to me becoming more comfortable with the distance that I've set from others. But, as cheesy as it sounds, Vella and Jarred, have shown me that there's absolutely nothing to be scared of! In failure, successes, and the in-betweens, these two legends have shown genuine support for me both professionally and personally.

That being said, I also can't thank the rest of the SDC team enough for fostering such a positive and safe work environment. It makes me feel incredibly grateful to work alongside them every day! How about you? Share your highlights with us in the comments below. We'd love to hear from you!

I think the highlight has been developing our front yard of our new house we moved in last year . Last year the soil was too wet but now we have lawn and garden beds . Waiting for the backyard to be done , still waiting for the pool to be done , there is a massive delay . We also have our 50th anniversary this year in December. Another highlight will be my mother’s 103 rd birthday next week.

The highlight of my year came early, when I went to NZ to celebrate my great-uncle’s 100th birthday. It’s all been downhill from there, with five funerals already, three of them extended family. Hopefully the second half of the year will be better! 🤞

The highlight of my year so far has been today, our oldest grandchild turned 18. He lives with us so we made his day special with balloons, cake, presents. He got his green Ps so is very happy with himself. All his close family rang him and wished him happy birthday, including his 7 year old half sister who lives with her mother and doesn’t see him very often. That was special. He has gone out to tea with his friends and we are having a family lunch with him on Sunday. The only downside, it makes me feel older.

My highlight so far is, I've had my final lutate treatment for my cancer, woohoo, and will find out in Aug if it's gone, fingers and toes crossed.

Grandchild, BE CAREFUL with driving. It takes a long time to become experienced. You and your passengers have years left (hopefully). Don't spoil them through injuries, hospitalization, or worse.

My highlight so far this year was only last week spending a wonderful 4 days with 12 off my children and their partners and grandchildren.

We were at The Hunter Valley to celebrate and attend my daughters wedding

I have no doubt you will be all clear and the cancer won't come back.

You won the battle and you are a strong woman.

After your appointment in August I will shout you luch to celebrate

Ricki I sincerely hope all goes well for you and that you've beaten the cancer. I had my own battle in 2007 and so far no recurrence. I hope you have some good friends and family to support you through this very hard time.
