No joke this afternoon being October I'm airing a poem I wrote in October 2012.
Fifty Shades Of Grey.
High and mighty we still stand
In this great Australian land
We are members of the grey brigade
Some with false teeth and hearing aids
Every day a gift from God
Before I became a dithering dod
If we have a pain from 9 to 5
Lets us know we are still alive
Many are driven daily silly
When they have a crippling disability.
When many memories beginning to fade
Lots cannot remember when they were last laid
Now we have to come to grips
With all these new technical kits
We smile to ourselves when youngsters who should be brighter
Stand looking puzzled when they see an old typewriter
Oldies have become a bunch of rovers
As they dash around in their mobile gophers
But before we are finally laid to rest
We will know we have tried to do our best.
