I'm a Christian of no denomination.

I don't celebrate Easter or Xmas as both of these are Pagan traditions which are actually against Gods teachings.

Please tell me what the Easter bunny or Easter eggs have to do with Jesus ?

If you researched what Easter means you will be shocked

I don't say people can't celebrate Easter just don't say it is to celebrate the the death of Jesus and his Resurrection

I celebrate and give thanks every day for his birth and his Resurrection.

His crucifixion never happened this time of year although his birth was around April or May......how do we know this it's because of the weather his birth was not in winter which in Bethlehem the 25th Dec is in winter . The bible describes a spring night .

As I said it's ok for people to celebrate just don't say it's for Jesus

Despite its significance as a Christian holy day, many of the traditions and symbols that play a key role in Easter observances actually have roots in pagan celebrations—particularly the pagan goddess Eostre

The Easter bunny and Easter eggs originated as pagan symbols of spring and rebirth. Over the centuries, these ancient symbols became associated with the Christian holiday of Easter such that the two traditions have merged together to become what some celebrate today

So it is really against what the bible tells us
I fully agree , we do not buy Easter eggs or hand out presents for X-mas .
Too busy on the road to go anywhere and the prices are up.
Stay at home and sit on the deck watching the birds in the backyard and view the water birds on the lake , so peaceful

We dont go away over Easter, Too much traffic and double demerits, if yr caught going tooo fast. Safer to stay home I reckon!
We live on a double right of way (ROW) and have 6 families living here plus 1 other neighbour so Ive arranged to have a lamb on the spit for us all.
Lamb gets picked up from Taren Point on Thursday, put in the fridge til Saturday, prepared greek style, and ill start cooking about 0700 so we should be eating by 1400
The other households all bring a salad or nibblies, their own beverages of choice and we all have a chin wag.
It makes for a good relationship between us all and we can catch up on all the goss!
Its my first time cooking a whole lamb so I hope all goes well

Everyone stay safe and well and enjoy your Easter🐰🐇🐰

HEY PEOPLE!!! THIS IS NOT A RELIGIOUS LESSON OR DEBATE... IT IS ABOUT EASTER.
On Easter Sunday, afterl normal formalities. We will have a (Easter Egg Hunt?) i DON'T thinks so ... with rising costs of living we will have a FREDDO FROG hunt OR a Turkish Delight Hunt. After a wonderful lunch on our lawn or the nearby park, I will wish everyone a Happy Easter and Thank them for coming and again within the keeping of Tradition I will give my Mum a kiss. She has passed on so nowadays I have a great photo of her and I still give her a Kiss .... She gets a kiss on Christmas Day, Her Birthday Anniversary and My Birthday Anniversary.
So I will kiss my Mum and you can kiss yours
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL MY FRIENDS xxx

My best friend and her husband are coming to stay for a week, plus an older friend, whose wife is now in a Nursing Home. Have lots of things planned for boys, car shows etc, us girls will be walking and talking. Sunday, all have been invited to lunch at my brothers, started out 12 people, has enlarged to 25, so a really fine catch up with lots of loving friends and family with a couple of new ones becoming family also.

Sounds absolutely lovely, @Maicar! We hope you all have a blast 😊

What do you have planned for Easter Sunday, and what are your family's Easter traditions?

It's a couple of days before Easter, and I’ve heard many people making plans for the long weekend, ranging from visiting family to even going camping.

On our end, nothing’s final yet, as we’re still figuring some things out. That being said, I’m so excited to know what you’re doing next week. What do you have planned for Easter Sunday?

The long weekend is a fantastic time for some classic chinwagging! Image Credit: Unsplash

We'd be delighted to know whether it’s something meticulously organised or just an easy weekend of rest and relaxation at home.

On that note, why not throw in traditions your family does on Easter for an added kick of fun?

It’s simply touching to know of the special things families do during the holidays, and we’re all ears (or eyes?) to see what you have in store for the holidays.
I am going to enjoy Easter taking care of my respite foster child
