Here, There and Everywhere?
What Do I look like?

What Do I look like? One day a husband comes home from work. His wife greets him and says,
"Honey, you know, in the upstairs bathroom one of the pipes is leaking, could you fix it?"
The husband says, "What do I look like, Mr. Plumber?" A few days go by, and he comes home from work and his wife says,
"Honey, my car won't start. I think it needs a new battery. Could you change it for me?"
He says: "What do I look like, Mr. Goodwrench?" Another few days go by, and it's raining pretty hard. The wife finds a leak in the roof. She says,
"Honey, there's a leak on the roof! Can you please fix it?" "What do I look like," He says, "Bob Vila?"
The next day the husband comes home, and the roof is fixed. So is the plumbing. So is the car.
He asks his wife what happened. "Oh, I had a handyman come in and fix them," she says.
"Great! What did he charge?" he says.
"Nothing. He said he'd do it for free if I either baked him a cake or slept with him."
"Cheeky! Well, what kind of cake did you make?" asks the husband.

"Who do I look like," she says, "Betty Crocker?"

I had to read this one in its context otherwise it makes very little sense.

Betty Crocker (very important, in the punch line) is a brand and fictional character developed in 1920 and used in advertising campaigns for food and recipes in the US. The name Betty was selected because it was viewed as a cheery, all-American name. It was created by the owner General Mills, Inc., an American multinational.

By the way, Robert Joseph Vila (Bob) is an American home improvement television show host. "Mr. Plumber" is an Indianapolis Plumbing Company. Not all wives use "honey" for their husbands (or vice versa) but it has a very high level of popularity in the US in particular. "Mr. Goodwrench" was a classic General Motors (GM, an American company headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, United States) commercial played by an American actor.

All that in a joke folks! Very interesting, especially when you also make the effort to read it with an American accent...
