What did you and your siblings do for fun?

Hey members! How's everyone doing on this fantastic Saturday morning? Have you got any exciting plans lined up? I'm teaming up with my older sister for an impromptu cooking session. No special occasion, just a spontaneous decision to spend some quality time together (and perhaps give her a glimpse of married life 😉).

As I gear up for this fun-filled cooking adventure, I couldn’t help but reminisce about our mischievous childhood days. You see, I was the rebel, always up to some shenanigans, and my sister was the studious type. Yet, she somehow always got roped into my little escapades. Ah, the stories we could tell!

But enough about me, I want to hear about your nostalgic moments with your siblings. What wild and crazy things did you and your siblings get up to? Were you partners in crime or opposites? Share your beloved childhood tales with us, and let's reminisce together!

My sister and I were walking through the bush when unbeknown to me she found an old vacuum cleaner hose about 6 foot long. She coiled it up and threw it at me, as it flew through the air she yelled out SNAKE!
I hate snakes and nearly pooped my pants. Funny, I still have a laugh to myself about it, and my sister doesn't even remember doing it.

When we were kids, there was 6 of us, I'd play dress-ups & put my dolls in their pram & play house on week-ends & couldn't wait for School Holidays, I'd use blocks of wood or chairs to make my house. Later we'd be off playing games with the neighbourhood kids or go hiking up the mountains. As long as we were home before teatime. We had a great childhood playing all the games kids played back in the late 50s/early 60s.

This photo of my brother and I in 1966 is a special one. We are at the Spit on the Gold Coast, looking inside a washed up Nazi German mine weapon. This mine was laid off the NSW Coastline near Newcastle by the Germans in 1941. It had broke it's moorings, and finally settled on the Gold Coast. Australian Naval Officers came to carefully open it. It was defused and burnt.

When we were kids, we used to play cowboys and Indians as well as going to the park and run the go kart up and down hills and in drains. People were a lot more tolerant back then.

Hello everyone. I have lovely, happy memories as kids. My siblings & I would play hide & seek in the dark, in our home, when Mum & dad went out to party. My favourite memory, With my siblings & cousins we would walk from my Maternal Grandmother's home to a milk bar, through a padock, get our iceblocks, I loved the thunder bird icecream. caramel with chocolate on a twin paddlepop sticks. My brother would take my sister & I for wheelbarrow rides in my Maternal Grand Father's back your. we played outside a lot. Baby boomers have a wonderful sense of imagination & fun. I remember sitting on the the twin seat with table all built in one piece by my Pop as I called him. Painted pink & blue. I was always sitting there, with my top & tail cards, either playing with my sister or my cousin. Card games were always played on that veranda. Happy times. Bye everyone. Be kind to Yourself.

I grow up in Christchurch New Zealand in the summer we were never inside till bedtime or after dark we used to play cricket on the road grabbing our wooden boxes running to the side when a car came lots of fun flying kites made of news paper lots of great memories

There was a "Stand" of Bamboos near Canning Bridge, Perth and my Mates and self would cut a LOT down to make our "Fort". We would push shorter lengths into the ground at intervals then weave longer pieces through them to make the walls. Longer ones were pushed across the top and that was it. The little structure lasted for years ( with renos) and with the River nearby Swimming, Fishing etc life was a dream.
