What’s this McDonald’s iced coffee ‘twist’ everyone is talking about?

Are you a fan of McDonald's iced coffee?

Well, a local foodie has revealed the ultimate Macca’s iced coffee trick—and people on social media are lovin' it!

It’s a simple trick, too. With no extra effort required, you could be enjoying a creamy, cold and delicious iced coffee in no time.

Sharing her 'must-try' advice online, one Macca's fan shared her iced coffee take using two popular items from McDonald’s menu itself.

The video begins with the social media user filming herself entering the drive-thru before offering the public a taste test.

After taking a sip, she shows how impressed she is, commenting, 'Oh yeah! Oh yum, that's good.'

'Perfect Sunday treat. I finished it, and I was like, why the h*** did I only get a small!?'

If you want to try this out for yourself, here’s the secret: You start by ordering two double-shot espressos, and to add a touch of sweetness, you grab a small Vanilla Thickshake.

Then comes the magic—pour those piping-hot espressos into the shake and give it a gentle stir. Now you’ve got yourself a homemade iced coffee!

The combination works so well because the shake is so thick it doesn’t instantly melt from the hot coffee. Instead, it just makes it a little thinner; and the coffee cools almost immediately.

The video has since been viewed more than 24,000 times, with fans eager to try it out.

'I want one,' wrote one viewer, with another echoing 'I need to try this!'

And while some viewers said her advice was simply imitating affogato, she did not let those comments get to her.

'Affogato is just ice cream with coffee on top (liquor if you want),' she noted.

'So a thick shake isn't just ice cream, is it? Completely different format.'

You can watch the woman’s video below:

But wait, there’s more! Some savvy Macca’s lovers even came up with a pocket-friendly version of this trick.

Instead of purchasing a Vanilla Thickshake separately, you can ask the staff to add coffee shots to a Thickshake.

'If they have a cafe... ask for the thick shake with coffee shots,' one revealed.

'Way cheaper!' Another shared.

This simple twist was also quickly confirmed by another fan, who wrote: 'Been doing that for a few years myself. If you ask for a thick shake with a shot, they make it for you.'

Can't have their thickshakes because of Sulphites. Can't have espresso because it is FAR to strong for me. besides if i wanted a iced coffee i'd just go buy a damn bottle of iced coffee flavoured milk or even go home make a coffee and stick it in the freezer for a half hour then have it - buying the flavoured milk would still work out cheaper than THAT maccas idea and the home made is even cheaper (although takes longer).

You can make ice coffee at home yourself. You need a blender, add milk, coffee (instant coffee is fine), a teaspoon of sugar more if you like it sweeter and vanilla ice cream. Blend together pour into a glass and enjoy.
