What’s one little thing that made you smile this week?

Maybe it was a perfectly ripe avocado. Or a stranger who gave you a wink and a grin at the shops. Maybe your grandkid said something outrageously weird (and you pretended not to laugh but definitely did). Or hey, maybe you just had a really good cup of tea—like, close-your-eyes-and-sigh good.

Big or small, silly or sweet—I want to read them all. Spill the beans in the comments below and let’s fill this Sunday with stories worth smiling about. 🥰

It was my grandaughter`s 4th birthday on the 14th and her parents organised a party at the local neighbourhood centre, the theme was FROZEN and she was dressed as Elsa. She is normaly a reserved little girl, but yesterday she was so happy and excited, she was having so much fun and was realy enjoying herself as she played games and mixed with her little friends, she was shining!. It is these things that make my heart sing, I felt so much love for her and grateful that she is in my life.

My Grandson ,
I was unwell with a virus before mother's day so could not see him . When I did mind him a few days ago he said grandma are you well now ?
He must have asked me a few times like he could not understand what happened to me . He's only nearly 3 but wise beyond his yrs . He just makes me smile ....

Grandson (6) visits every Friday, first thing he says…poppy do we have any work. He and I do jobs together, such as repairing a damaged wall or gardening. This week we fixed a table, he used a drill with me holding it.
I want to teach him what I had to learn on my own.

Happened a couple of weeks ago, but I am still smiling. I lost something. I went back to the shop, found nothing, got outside, went back in again thinking may had dropped on floor, again nothing. Did everything I needed to do, finally put notice in lost & found in that locality. Girl from a shop also put in a notice, but a different site that I didn't see. Someone saw both posts, put two & two together, replied to me to say it is at the shop. It was weekend, couldn't do anything until Monday. I Centre customer service whom I had left message with, they then retrieved item from shop & I was able to retrieve from them, then went to shop to thank girls & give them a box of chocs. In this world where there is so much scamming & untruth, it made me realise we only hear the bad stories, so here is my good story. There are more good people in this world, we just don't hear of them. I couldn't stop smiling & being extra nice to everyone I met. Of course we must be careful with our belongings, yes there are bad people about, but many more good people. Have a good day.

What really made me smile this week was when I woke up to discover one of my songs has over 400 views in only 5 days on YouTube. I think for somebody about to hit 70, that's a pretty cool thing... isn't it? Well, it feels good to me anyway, lol. Septuagenarians don't usually write popular songs... er... unless they were already famous and THEN got old (like the Rolling Stones). ... but what just made me laugh even more was some of the mistakes in the lyrics that come up when the song plays. The chorus has "I am the hawk, you are the wind..." which became "I am the heart..." the first time, and "I am the hall..." the second time, then Gypsy Girl became "Flipsy Girl". I think there's an AI in training doing the subtitles!

This week I learned that we all have only one real commodity to spend, time. Now, why should that make you smile you might ask, the answer is simple, if you are reading this you still have some to spend...
Having terminal cancer I don't have 'time', but for whatever time I do have left I don't intend feeling sorry for myself, I intend to laugh and be happy i'm still here ❤️

Don't focus on time but the special moments you spend with family, friends and others. Having cancer makes the trees seem greener and the sky brighter blue. I wish you all the very best as you battle all this. I'm sure all the SDC community are thinking of you.
