Wedding Day

ha ha, I can't claim to have taken this photo, but I wanted to share this beautiful piece of nostalgia from – probably the mid-1950s. The bridesmaid in pink is my mum. I love the elegance and daintiness of these young women

What a beautiful photo. Weren't dresses so elegant in those days? No bare shoulders or anything but full length. My parents married in 1947 and it was still hard to buy wedding dresses after the war - so Mum borrowed a dress and her 2 bridesmaids both had borrowed dresses but they all looked stunning. The bridal bouquet in those days was also very big - Mum's was white chrysanthemums.
