Weatherman Steve Jacobs makes a shocking career announcement

TV personality Steve Jacobs has certainly kept us entertained throughout the years on the Today Show.

However, he has recently made an unexpected move.

From forecasting the weather, Jacobs is now set to embark on a new career journey.

The 56-year-old TV star has announced his partnership with Bonditony's Burger Joint to open a new restaurant in Enmore, a bustling entertainment hub just 5kms from Sydney's CBD.

Jacobs revealed that this career shift was a ‘bit of a pivot’, but that didn’t mean he'll be hanging up his TV boots.

'I'll still be doing TV,' he assured.

‘TV is just so fragmented at the moment, and I've spent the past five years focusing on my daughters.’

‘It's been very hard for me to travel and work full-time, which is what I normally do.’

Jacobs's recent stint as the host of Channel 10's Studio 10, which was cancelled last month, was a testament to his commitment to television. He had been working as a freelance reporter and producer on the show.

‘It's sad because I thought the show had so much potential…but I think its a sign of the times with free-to-air TV,’ he said.

The new restaurant, aptly named Tony's Enmore, is set to open its doors next Tuesday.

Jacobs will continue his on-air work with 2GB in Sydney alongside this new venture.

He and his business partner, former Music Promoter Tony Gosden, have plans to expand the burger franchise to other locations, including the popular coastal town of Byron Bay.

Promising to be 'the coolest burger joint in Australia', Tony's Enmore will not only serve mouth-watering burgers but also feature live music, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the Enmore precinct.

Jacobs's career in television spans over a decade, with his most notable role being the weather presenter on Nine's Today show. He left the show in 2019 after a 12-year stint, making way for Tim Davies to take over the weather segment.

I wish these weather people would spend more time on weather, which should be their job, instead of rubbing shoulders with whoever.
