We Complicate Things

On a thundering rainy day, Mum went to
pick up her six-year-old son from school
thinking that he would be afraid of the thunder.
But she found him smiling at the sky for every lightning flash.
She asks, "Why are you smiling?"
He replies, " God is taking my pictures and I need to look good."
Life is simple....we complicate it.

That's cute... I was at a large house party in Byron Bay, quite a few years back, and at one stage not long after sundown, I went outside and noticed there was about ten very young children, sitting together outside in a very cozy area, that had blankets and pillows on the lawn, between trees.

Most of the parents were inside the house talking and the very little children were starting to become tired and restless. A friend who was minding the group, said patting the blanket beside her. "Come and sit down next to me, talk to the children and tell them a bedtime story.

I sat down and said ok, and turning towards the now beaming expectant faces, I quietly said; put your hands up everyone that believes in fairies. The little hands instantly shot up. Ok I said who wants to see them. they all buzzed in excitement.

Ok, Ok I said shshssh shsh. Everyone, quietly, shshshsh, lay down on your backs and close your eyes. you have to be very very quiet, keep them eyes closed tight. we have to be very quiet and when I say so, open your eyes and look straight up into the sky. I paused and then very quietly, but so they could all hear my voice, I said now. And I looked up at the stars as they all looked up and said wow...... there's lots an' lots of them out tonight.

Little eyes stared upwards in silence then little hands pointed up and said I can see them I can see them. After about ten minutes, every young grinning face was now sound asleep.
