Watch: Unsportsmanship behaviour on the green

Chaos broke out at Cranbourne Golf Club in Melbourne over the weekend and it all allegedly started over a simple question.

The footage of the screaming match between two players at the club's annual tournament quickly went viral, amassing thousands of views and leaving people speechless.

Content warning: There’s a lot of swearing involved.

The video was shared on Twitter and showed one enraged man (we’ll call him Player 1 to avoid confusion) marching up to two other men in the middle of the golf course.

‘Why are there spectators? I don’t mind people watching but why are they on the golf course?’ Player 1 said while walking.

And this immediately angered one of the golfers in a red shirt (let’s call him Player 2) who stomped toward Player 1 and yelled at him to walk away.

‘Walk away before I knock you the f*** out,’ he warned.

Player 1 replied: ‘Go away, you d***head. Threatening me with violence? Go ahead and take the first shot and I will have to sue you for assault.’

The two players met halfway and angrily stared into each other’s eyes before another bystander broke them apart.

The third man, visibly confused, asked ‘What’s going on?’, which prompted Player 1 to reply that the situation was ‘bullsh**’. The third man pointed out that club championships were underway, and Player 1 turned to leave.

But Player 2 screamed and asked why the other gentleman was ‘hitting up’ on them.

Player 1 heard this and yelled back: ‘I am not hitting up on you!’

And this prompted a second round of yelling.

Player 1 later claimed that Player 2 was walking down the course and stopped him from ‘having his hits’. The third man chimed in and said that if he felt the need to address something, he would’ve done just that.

Player 1 answered that although he respected the third man as a ‘captain’ he said he made a ‘bad decision’, before walking away again.

However, the atmosphere got heated again and the players continued to yell at each other. Player 1 kept calling Player 2 obscenities during the whole ordeal.

‘Want to smash me up, do you? I am 61 years old. Come on, you f***head!’ He yelled.

Player 1 paced around the middle of the course and screamed another comment: ‘That’s wrong. I’ve got to put up with that, do I? F*** that. F*** that, captain. Control your f***ing players.’

A bit pacified, Player 1 revealed that he was going to make an official complaint to the club, complaining to the other bystanders how Player 2 ‘physically threatened’ him.

‘I am still shaking like a leaf mate. I don’t like to be physically threatened,’ he later said.

He continued: ‘And how come the captain doesn’t pull him up for that behaviour? That is totally wrong behaviour.’

In the second part of the video, Player 1 can be seen lining up to take a swing but misses and he immediately throws his golf club to the ground.

He then smashed his club against his bag and yelled out profanities.

All school children should be gradually taught from a young age "effective communication". Also politicians should have lessons in it and be mandatory for them as well as debating rules.
