Warning: Scam Phone call - 0459085888 of Telstra

Warning: Scam Phone call Mobile No. 0459 085 888
This phone number may contain details that can be shocking. Phone numbers may reveal spam callers, ex-lovers, collection agencies or unsolicited calls.
This - 0459 085 888 is not secure.

They use more than one number. They also somehow use other people's numbers as well.

Maybe just don't answer any number you don't know.

What exactly isn’t secure about this particular phone number? More information would be helpful.
If I don’t know a number, I don’t answer it. If it’s something important, they will leave a message.

TOO ADMIN:
The next story about "MEDIGROWTH - MEDICIBAL CANNABIS" sounds exactly like the ones you are warning us about. is this a genuine article or a SCAM?

Just something that might help out any number starting with 0489 .... Will be a scam call or calls from companies saying the represent Charities. Also never answer any number that's over sea as these are definitely scams ( unless of course you recognize the number ) and with most of them they have forgotten to press a button which allows them to Duplicate or Use a number that's not being used by a telecommunications company . Easy way out is if you don't know the number don't answer it. This also includes Number starting with an Australian Area code. As the privacy commission said " she hasn't answered a Phone call from a number she hasn't recognized in over three years. So has never been caught up in a Scam or unwanted Charity Calls. If you have an answering machine attached let the call go to it. If they dont leave a message its a scam.

Some more info on this scam phone number would be good

There are several items which appear regularly on the internet announcing cost of living amounts from Centrelink, such as $750 and $1,100.
Don't click on these articles, they are fake. My friend ended up with a virus on her laptop after accessing one of these sites.
Centrelink isn't that generous and any increases are announced directly not through obscure websites.

Centrelink increases are usually in cents never in large amounts like 'spendable amounts'

My phone doesn't respond to numbers not in my contacts list

I did that on my phone but ended up missing Telehealth calls from the hospital, they don’t leave a message. I’ve gone back to only answering numbers that I recognise or if I’m expecting a call from an unknown number I look out for them

I only answer call from numbers I recognise. If I accidentally answer a call from someone I don't know then I keep telling them to speak louder as I am partly deaf. That usually is enough to make them hang up.

who says this isn't a scam?????

Thanks….I’ve blocked the number (y)

Husband’s brother-in-law used to blow his trumpet (literally his trumpet) into the phone when it was an unknown caller!!! Must try that with my Canadian train whistle sometime!

It's disgusting, I've also reported it to scamwatch, etc. But still these articles appear day after day duping people into thinking there is money on offer from Centrelink when there isn't.
It cost my friend a substantial amount to have her computer cleared of the virus after accessing one of these articles.
