Vintage Cellars reveals BEST value wines in Australia for 2022
- Replies 0
Here’s a fun fact to start off with: Wine is produced in every state of Australia, with South Australia being the largest producer of wine in the whole country (accounting for more than half of Australia's wine grape production), so there's no doubt that Aussies love having a glass (or two) of their favourite bottle of plonk.
Thankfully, we're at that wonderful time of the year again when we get to witness one of the most important wine events in the country, especially for our wine-loving members out there – the annual Vintage Cellars' Best Of awards!
Here, the Australian liquor company helps connoisseurs all over the country sort through the many options of wines, spirits and beers out there, to quickly and easily identify a high-quality product.
"We got leading industry insiders and experts together to assiduously taste their way through the worthy entries from Australia and beyond," they write on their website.
And of course, they also make sure that their list of winners is as inclusive as it can be, especially for Aussies who would like to get a taste of the finer things in life without having to burn through their pockets – that's why they are also revealing the best value wines for this year!
Hailing from some of the country's best wine regions, these local drops are all verified to be high-quality, as judged by Vintage Cellars' panel of senior wine tasters.
And the best part? They are all under $30!

The Best of Value Red award was given to Hither & Yon's Grenache Touriga.
Described as a juicy and delicious drink that has spice, cherries, and rose petals bursting from the glass, the red wine is available for $30 and has been likened to enjoying a mouthful of strawberry pie or a bakewell tart.
"Supple tannins, good length and an earthy finish cap off a charming, fruit-driven wine," wine experts also recommend pairing the drink with dishes with smokey flavours like grilled meat and smokey barbecue sauces.
The Best of Value White award was given to an estate winery in Western Australia's Margret River region – Leeuwin Estate's Art Series Riesling.
Described as bright, crunchy, and full of energy, judge Ray Jordon noted that the drink is a "beautifully pure and intensely flavoured riesling that shows what you can do with this variety in Margaret River in a very good year."
Available for $25, wine lovers can enjoy the citrusy drink best when pairing it with dishes with cured meats.

And last but definitely not least, the award for the Best of Value Sparkling was given to the ever-popular Brown Brothers' Brut Reserve.
True to the northeast Victoria sparkling style, this wine has complex cashew, lemon and granny smith apple flavours that are well-loved by sparkling wine drinkers all over the country.
This drink is cheerful, fun, fizzy, and $28 for a 750 mL bottle – basically everything you can ask for in a bottle of sparkling wine!
Customers who have tried the drink also expressed how much they preferred it over more expensive bottles.
"We bought a few bottles of this as a cheaper option to some expensive French Champagne over Christmas and this was actually better than the Champagne at twice the price," said one happy customer. "We'll certainly be buying this next time instead of Champagne and so good that it's Australian!"

We’ll be honest members, $30 is still a fair bit more than we’d normally pay for a bottle of wine, but these do sound good. Does anyone have any recommendations for wine at $15 or below per bottle?
