Video reveals chilling secrets inside an abandoned Woolworths supermarket—can you spot them?

It’s one thing to know that an abandoned site is out there…but it’s another thing entirely to witness it for yourself.

That’s what one social media user decided to do recently when they went inside an abandoned Woolworths supermarket.

‘Lost In Time’ is a social media account that has gained a large following for filming abandoned buildings around Melbourne that are no longer in use.

Yet, the scenes captured within the long-closed Woolworths outlet attracted the attention of people all around the world, leaving many viewers shocked.

‘How the f**k is it still there?,’ asked one user.

‘This is sick,’ another user added.

Despite being closed for several years, many parts of the old supermarket are still intact and appear untouched in the video.

The famous 'Fresh Produce' sign from Woolworths still proudly hangs in one section of the store, and rows of fridges in the store's chilled and frozen aisles continue to occupy their spots.

But that’s not all that can be found inside.

The supermarket’s branded trolleys are still scattered throughout the store, and the Woolies team members’ break room is still in working order as well.

Intriguingly, a blackboard message to staff at the store notifying them that the store would be closing for good at 4 p.m. that day is still visible—drawing attention to the fact that no one has set foot in the building for many years.

But while some sections of the store look like they did when the store’s doors closed several years ago, other parts do not.

Many areas of the abandoned site exhibit signs of trespassing and vandalism, with graffiti and litter scattered throughout. In one aisle, paint has been rolled onto the floor.

The video has become ‘popular’ on social media, with many curious to know more about the store.

‘When did it go abandoned? This is cool to me because I work at a Woolworths,’ one user asked.

‘Why was it abandoned?!’ another user wrote.

The social media user, while generally discreet, revealed in the comments how long the building had been abandoned when a user inquired.

‘I’d say 4+ years that it’s been abandoned, they have development plans for it but haven’t done anything so far.’

While some viewers were curious about how the creator managed to access the boarded-up, restricted site, others expressed an interest in visiting the location themselves.

‘I’m trying to find it so I can explore and all that comes up on Google is an abandoned trolley report,’ one said.

‘Could you message me where this is? I know people don't like giving spots out because of vandalism and that, but I've been looking for a spot to explore,’ one asked.

However, some insiders refused to name the location of the store, as the information could lead to more vandalism.

‘Please nobody say where if you know. We have enough people breaking into it,’ a concerned user said.

"no one has stepped foot in the building for many years"

I notice that people are using "stepped foot" when the expression is "set foot". Another example of language being mangled, probably by American "English" where they use "alternate" instead of "alternative"

I see that the mis-step has now been amended.

I can't believe the trolley jacks and six wheelers that have been left behind. They are expensive pieces of equipment that are always in high demand at stores, could easily be relocated.

Hope every Woolies ends up like this..... all those fittings and fixtures left there are one of the reasons prices are exorbitant.

I guess it wasn't profitable so they shut it down what else would a company do

So what?

YEA! I'm with you, babe ...
When I was with a newspaper back in the prehistoric hot metal days, it was the word that the women's rags stuffed their pages with screamers, which their editors firmly believed would attract a bigger audience each week, add to the gravitas of the articles and, of course, ensure the gawpers swallowed the garbage written therein. Seems nothing much has changed, except now the content has been "enhanced" by motion, with shows like Big Brother, Survivor, The Block, My Kitchen Rules and so on outdoing each other with manufactured crap.
