Veteran Aussie Musician Kamahl reveals that he and his wife Sahodra have separated
Veteran Aussie musician, Kamahl, has revealed in a recent interview that he and his wife of 55 years, Sahodra, quietly separated earlier this year.

Speaking to New Idea, the 87-year-old Malaysian-born showbiz personality said that he is "praying" for a reconciliation between him and his ex-wife, blaming himself for the separation.
Kamahl said: “I think over time I took Sahodra’s graciousness for granted. In hindsight, I should have given her more hugs."
The singer is currently residing at a country club on Sydney's northern beaches after the separated couple sold their longtime family home last year.
Kamahl and Sahodra, who wed in 1966, have two children together — a son, Rajan, aged 52, and a daughter, 50-year-old Rani.
The Aussie showbiz legend however has said that he and Sahodra 'remain close' after the split.
“Thankfully, things are convivial – we see one another regularly. She still cooks me her unbelievably delicious lamb shanks every fortnight,” he said.
It must be noted that the couple have shared multiple moments together in the public eye, regularly appearing arm in arm on Sydney red carpets for decades.

The sad announcement came a month after Kamahl wrote an open letter to former Hey, Hey It’s Saturday host Daryl Somers, recounting his 'disappointing' experience on the show.
Hey, Hey faced backlash earlier this year after vintage clips from the show resurfaced online, with many of the short clips featuring the mocking of Kamahl during his frequent appearances.
The singer's open letter seeks an answer to "one unanswered question" for Somers, asking if the host would give the same humiliating treatment to other guest Australian artists on the show.
