US woman who was having a rough day only wanted nuggets, but her Maccas order left her in tears
It’s not uncommon for people to drop by their favourite restaurants before starting the day.
Sometimes, busy lives result in jam packed schedules, leaving no time to prepare meals. But we still need to eat, so a takeaway is occasionally preferable.
One US woman did just that… and her order turned out to be worth sharing on the internet. But it was not for a good reason.
Jessica Gardner took to Tiktok, a popular video-sharing app, to share her disappointing meal from Mcdonald's.
Captioned with ‘I just want to talk,’ the short clip has garnered over 1.7 million views and 285.9 thousand likes.
Jessica began the video by stating that she was already having a terrible time early in the work day. She thought she could drop by the restaurant to get an order of a cheeseburger and some nuggets before heading to the office.
However, when she took a bite of her burger, she noticed that the restaurant had forgotten to put a patty on it. The buns only had cheese, onions, and sauce; the meat was nowhere to be found.
Jessica shrugged it off: ‘You know what, that's fine. I got nuggets, so I'll just eat nuggets. Maybe I didn't need the burger?’
But opening her McNuggets box revealed a bigger disappointment — instead of chicken nuggets, she got a single fried egg.
The discovery made the young woman burst into tears.

‘So I go to open the nuggets... it's an egg. Why?’ Jessica asks Tiktok, ‘Why is there an egg in here? Breakfast has been over for two hours!"
Talking in between sniffles, the defeated woman said: ‘I just wanted a meal before I go to work, and I'm very upset.’
TikTok users flocked to the video to share comments expressing both empathy and amusement.
One person commented, ‘This has to be an all-time low for having a terrible day. I’m apologising in advance for laughing.’
Another tried to make light of the situation by saying it settled a long-time debate: ‘Well I guess that solves it then, the egg came first.’
McDonald’s did not comment on the clip even though they were ‘tagged’ (their username was added in the caption in the hopes of them noticing).

Jessica eventually got over it and followed up with another video. She said she was embarrassed that the internet saw her crying over an egg.
People rallied behind the US woman though, with one person commenting: ‘You weren't crying over an egg. You were crying over a hard day, and that was the last straw. Valid, girlfriend.’
Jessica also said she was refunded, but that Maccas staff found the incident ‘funny’.
‘I'm not sure if it was genuinely a messed up order and I got someone else's order or if it was a prank,’ she said. Afterwards, she revealed that she got a meal from Chick-fil-A, another fast food outlet.
Jessica’s fast food fail isn’t the first, but sadly, it won’t also be the last. People around the globe have had their share of disappointments, from a fish fillet served without the fish to a fingernail mixed with chips. But at the same time, they can be sources of much-needed laughs, as the lists from Buzzfeed and Bored Panda indicate.

How about you, folks? Have any of our local fast food places messed up your orders in the past? How did the restaurant handle the situation? We’d love to know through the comments.
