'I just got a $348 toll rebate, and it literally took two minutes! I don't even use toll roads that much, so this was a pleasant surprise,' she wrote.

The toll relief rebate is a little-known feature of the ServiceNSW app that offers a 40 per cent rebate to motorists who spend more than $375 on tolls in a financial year.

To claim this rebate, users must open the ServiceNSW app, click on the toll relief rebate under the 'Featured' tab, read the requirements, fill in their details, and follow the prompts.

The discovery of this hidden feature sparked a wave of excitement on social media, with many users thanking the woman for sharing her findings.

One user even reported receiving a staggering $1,315 back after following the same steps.

'So I claimed $550 back over two years literally yesterday. I couldn't believe it,' one user commented.

Another said: 'Got $250 back! Thank you.'

A third added: 'I did this back in July sometime and got back $850!'

In addition, the toll relief rebate is not only available to NSW motorists.

In January 2024, a new toll relief rebate was introduced for those who spend more than $60 weekly on tolls.

Eligible motorists will automatically start accruing for the new scheme from January 1, with claims opening from April 2024.

So, if you're a NSW resident and haven't yet downloaded the ServiceNSW app, it might be worth giving it a try. Who knows, you might just find your own hidden treasure!

Morning Everyone, I live in Country Victoria and we don't have that here.Cheers Paula.

So if you drive in the city and pay tolls the government gives you a rebate on the tolls, they also give people who live in Sydney and use toll roads a discount on their car registration. So they get a toll rebate and rego discount. Now we know the politicians think NSW borders stop at the outskirts of Sydney, BUT HEY, WHAT ABOUT THE COUNTRY FOLKS. No we don’t pay tolls, but we have much higher fuel costs and usually long commutes to work, specialist appointments, sometimes just to go shopping or visit drs, dentists etc. I’m sure a lot of us spend an equivalent amount each year as the city folk, and earn considerably less than most city folk. We get nothing, no consideration. Country pensioners did get a $250 fuel card for a few years, which was a big help as it could be used for fuel, public transport, taxis to get about. Not any more, the current government put a stop to it, can’t afford it, but they can afford toll rebates and registration discounts for city folks. Go figure, and tell me country folk are not being discriminated against. Yes I know anybody who spends over a certain amount of dollars can get a toll rebate, but not many country folk would spend enough to be eligible, and we don’t qualify for a registration discount either, unless a pensioner.
