The label clearly states the oats are soaked in plant based milk! I understood that to mean soya milk, oat milk etc, not cows milk . If this is true and it is not plant based then the manufacturer should be penalised. I have just checked out their product and it states it is coconut milk.

I think that whenever there are violations of the Food standards code that require recall notices, that such notices should be full, complete and accurate to the point that it leaves zero doubt in the minds of consumers as to what they are referring to,. To have a recall notice just use the term 'milk' in a generic sense is probably not good enough when milk comes by so many different names/sources - cows, almond, soy etc. Different milks can affect different people, from just mere taste preferences to very serious allergic reactions.

But, "The recall is due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (milk)" is all that Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), the independent statutory agency, had listed on their website.

So if it wasn't plant based milk, what was it!
