Twin Tub Washing Machine

Do you remember the days of washing your laundry in the Twin Tub? It may have required more effort to use, but wasn't it worth it for the unbeatable fresh and clean feel of your laundry? This machine not only got the job done, but also saved water, time, and laundry powder along the way.

Had a Hotpoint twin tub in our first house. Worked well for many years. We didn’t have a separate laundry room so it fitted neatly under the kitchen bench when not in use. I also had a wringer, which I much preferred to the spindryer as it pressed most cottons and linens splendidly and saved heaps of ironing. I detest ironing.

My first twin tub was second hand from my grandmother when she up graded her machine. Before the wedding my husband painted & waxed the outside so it looked like new! I used it for many years. Our laundry was outside at the end of the porch. The hardest items to wash were the sheets & towels.

I hated doing jeans 👖 drove me mad😠

At a power station I worked at, all the electricians chipped in and we bought a 2nd hand one for a dollar, yes $1, washed all our overalls for years. Best investment ever.
