TV presenter pranked by her son on social media

We all love travelling every now and again. Going on a holiday is a great way to recharge the batteries, and of course, seeing friends and family is always a plus!

Kylie Gillies – best known as a popular host on The Morning Show – recently went on holiday with her family. But while she probably had visions of sightseeing, rich culture, and maybe a beach or two, a ‘classic’ prank was hatched by her son.

Kylie visited India with her family for her nephew’s wedding, and fans expressed their joy in seeing the TV presenter showcase the culture and the occasional snippet of the wedding.

But while she’s enjoying a much-needed vacation, her 20-year-old son, Gus, decided to prank his mum while they were visiting the Taj Mahal.

‘Gus pranks Mum #217 Taj Mahal Edition,’ the host captioned.

In a clip posted on Kylie’s Instagram, her son was prompting the host to take an ‘optical illusion’ photo of herself in front of the landmark. But it seems that Gus had ulterior motives, as evidenced in the video.

In it, Kylie can be seen – somewhat reluctantly – doing her son's bidding and extending her arm in front of her to make it look like she's touching the top tip of the palace. Under his guidance, she moves her arm this way and that, trying her best to get the angle just right.

But eventually, Kylie grows suspicious of what's happening and asks Gus if he's ‘stitching her up’. But he only lightly scolds his mum for moving too much.

‘My arm’s hurting,’ she tells him, before giving up on taking the ‘photo’. Kylie also shared the conversation between her and Gus prior to the prank.

Gus: ‘Mum let me take your picture, one of the optical illusion tourist shots.’

Me: ‘No thanks. They’re dumb.’

Gus: ‘Please. You know I never want to take photos with you.’

She even shared that her son knew how to ‘pull on her heartstrings’, so she caved. You can watch the video here.

‘You’ll see on the video I was sceptical. Gus has form! But when your 20-year-old son wants to do ANYTHING with you, you don’t say no,’ Kylie wrote.

Her fans loved seeing the mother-son bonding moment and shared their thoughts in her comments section.

‘What beautiful family memories to treasure forever,’ someone commented.

A second added: ‘Got to love a son! Mine still tortures me with stuff like this at 28.’

Gorgeous family interaction.
Many years ago, I had an incredible bond with my daughter.
I could "sense" if she was happy or miserable at school, I could sense when she got a school project, or when she got results back of tests or projects handed in months ago.
When she'd hop in the car, I'd say,
"OK....what did you get for your test."
She knew I had this connection.
She then started to say, "No, Mum, we didn't get that back today," or, "No, Mum, we haven't got a new assignment."
If course, by the time we arrived home, she'd say, "Oh, Mum....by the way, I got a new assignment today," or whatever it was.
It was her playing games with me.
Beautiful connection.
It lasted for about 8 years after I stopped seeing her, but I could never prove what was upsetting her when I "knew" she was miserable.
I always wrote those "miserable" days in my diary.....I was able to prove several of them years later....where she had broken her wrist, another was she was on crutches for a foot injury, and another time when her father would not allow her to go on a school trip.
Nurture those special family connections.
