TV presenter faces changes after departing from Channel Seven

A familiar face to many Australian television viewers, especially after her stint as the host of Farmer Wants A Wife, is poised to embark on a new adventure to captivate audiences again.

After bidding farewell to the rural romance show, Armytage has dropped tantalising hints about her next move, sure to spark excitement and curiosity among her fans.

The entertainment industry buzz is that Armytage has moved to rival network Nine after a successful tenure with Seven.

This major career shift was teased during her appearance at The Everest in Sydney, where she radiated the same charm and grace that has endeared her to viewers over the years.

The whispers turned into a roar when TV Blackbox last month let slip that Nine is gearing up to introduce the Australian version of The Golden Bachelor to local screens in 2025.

The Daily Telegraph has since confirmed that Samantha Armytag has inked a deal to host this highly anticipated dating show.

The contract is quite lucrative, and insiders at Nine have reportedly confirmed the signing, noting that her previous contract with Seven has ended.

When prodded by the press at the races about the rumours of her signing with Nine, Armytage offered a coy smile and a cryptic response:

'Look, watch this space. Exciting times ahead.'

This response has only fueled speculation and eagerness among her followers, who are eager to see what she will bring to the table in her new role.

Armytage's departure from Seven was announced on her Instagram with a heartfelt message reflecting her 21-year journey with the network.

‘There [are] many highlights to list. I have hosted almost every show in the network (from Sunrise dawn to Farmer’s dusk)—and covered many of the important news stories of the past two decades.’ she wrote.

‘I started at seven as a fresh-faced 26yo journo & will leave as a…more matured-faced woman—who’s worked hard, had THE most incredible experiences & also a lot of fun.’

‘I hope I’ve brought [some] info & sparkle into your living rooms so far to ALL who watched. Thank you for tuning in for so many years. This is not the end, just the end of this chapter.’

She reminisced about the myriad of shows she hosted, the significant news stories she covered, and the wealth of experiences and fun she had along the way.

She expressed her gratitude to her colleagues and viewers, assuring them that while this chapter may be closing, her story is far from over.

This development comes amid rumours that Sonia Kruger, another television personality who has navigated between Seven and Nine, might also be in the running to host The Golden Bachelor.

An insider hinted that there's a potential bidding war between the networks for Kruger's talents, especially with a gap in her schedule due to the cancellation of Big Brother.

The Golden Bachelor is set to be a groundbreaking series, as indicated by Warner Bros.

Australia's call for single senior gentlemen to participate in this new venture.

The show aims to celebrate love across all ages, emphasising that the number of candles doesn't confine romance on a birthday cake.

The US version of The Golden Bachelor, which featured 72-year-old Gerry Turner, was acclaimed for its inclusivity and diversity.

Its network achieved the highest viewership in three years.

With such a successful precedent, the Australian adaptation has the potential to be a hit.

In other news, Samantha Armytage has announced she is leaving Channel Seven after 21 years with the network.

I’m 70 and don’t watch any of Batchelor, Love Island type reality shows because I can’t handle so many women making complete fools of themselves. It’s degrading! And I’m a self confessed reality show junkie. The thought of a bunch of old women (who should know better) is just toooo much to even think about!!!
