Trending hack from TikTok unveils hidden grime that’s most likely lurking in your drain!

You’ll be surprised to know the amount of grime sneakily lurking in the shadows of your home – particularly down the depths of your sinks drain.

Thankfully, a makeup artist and bartender, who goes by the username @stephyroc99 on TikTok, recently shared footage of her testing out a viral cleaning hack that claims to bring to surface every sink’s built up smuck.

“I'm so disgusted. I moved here two months ago and randomly decided to do this TikTok trend.” she captioned in her video.

Rochelle can be seen pouring a bowl filled with ice cubes down her sink drain and then proceeds to run water from the kitchen tap.

After a few seconds, murky brown coloured water rises up into the sink. Gross!

“I could throw up right now.” Rochelle captioned her TikTok post.

Absolutely repulsed by the hack’s results, she then decides to drain all the dirty water out of the sink. She follows this step by pouring generous amounts of dishwashing soap and bleach down the drain.

Rochelle gives the ice hack another shot to check the state of her sink drain and to her relief, the water that emerges this time around is crystal clear.

TikTok users were startled by the results which in turn caused Rochelle’s clip to receive over 10.6 million views.

“That sink needs holy water…” joked one user.

“I tried this and it really got rid of the nasty smell. I was trying everything before this and nothing was working!” shared another.

“I don’t even wanna know what’s in mine.” a third teased.

Other followers shared some drain cleaning tips of their own with one saying: “Pour baking soda, vinegar, and hot water down it (the drain) too.”

“Put lemon slices to give it a citrus smell!” chimed in another.

But one user warned others to be extra careful when using bleach with other cleaning products saying: “Woah, never pour bleach down the sink like that, especially a kitchen sink. Bleach combined with vinegar releases extremely toxic gas.”

Is that sink an incinerator? If she had it turned on with water running, that would explain the water resurfacing and why there would be such a gunky build up🤔😃

I have never seen a sink with a large opening like that. all ours have a metal plate just below the surface with holes in it to trap food particles, I am contemplating having the u bend replaced to remove the smell.
