The Northern Territory is often at the top of 'must-travel' lists thanks to its cultural and spiritual history, unique landscape, and natural beauty.

The limited-time sale is only available until the April 5th deadline or until tickets are sold out. The discount is applicable across all airlines as long as you book via Webjet.com

The announcement of this sale comes after a new low-cost Aussie airline, Bonza, was given the green light to officially take off. Their flights are expected to begin in late January to early February, with the airline promising that the fares will start from about $50 ‘for every hour that you fly’.

This makes Bonza the first new major airline in Australia since Tiger Airways launched more than 15 years ago. You can read more on that here.

Have you ever wondered if low-cost airfare promos are sustainable for airline companies? The short answer is… sometimes.

Barring the effects of the pandemic, low-cost carriers (or LLCs) have created more travellers by becoming more affordable and offering more destinations. So, LLCs have built a bridge to air travel – which was once a luxury only the rich and famous could afford. More travellers mean more income for airline companies.

Additionally, less ‘mainstream’ routes let airlines (like Bonza) reduce expenses like airport tax. With these reduced prices, LLCs can offer more competitive pricing compared to major carriers. For travellers, purchasing flight tickets with additional discounts saves the customer as much as 80 per cent per flight.

Lower flight costs are also beneficial for tourism, as it guarantees a high influx of travellers to popular tourist destinations, especially during peak seasons.

As things are starting to go back to normal, it seems that low-cost travelling is picking up again, and is likely to continue to thrive in the future.
Key Takeaways

  • Webjet has just launched a massive sale of up to $150 off flights to Alice Springs and Uluru, valid for travel dates from January 16, 2023 to April 5, 2023.

With the Marketing that Alice Springs is getting and the fact you are not allowed near Ayres Rock anymore I would say they should be paying us to go there.

Be careful when using Webjet. They just take your money and don’t care if you have any issues. I am still waiting to hear back on my complaint. I have given up on them. Not very professional. I would recommend using a travel agent before Webjet everytime now.

Until all these airlines get their acts together I don't care how low the fares go. I will wait until they can ensure that you, and your luggage both end up at the right destination at the right time on the right day. I think that's a minimum you should expect but it seems almost impossible to provide. :(

Good point!
Yes I agree with that. About 15 years ago I could fly from Perth to Hawaii using only 80,000 Qantas frequent flier points 'One Way'. However when I tried to use the same number of points to return there were no seats available for over 3 months. (That when I stopped looking). So when I spoke to Qantas about the cost of a return flight it was the same as if I had booked a flight from Perth including the return. (I thought that was an insulting rip-off).
