Travellers rejoice! Jetstar's direct flight to this country returns after 15 years

The world is opening up again, and for those with a sense of adventure and a love for travel, there's exciting news on the horizon.

Jetstar, the budget-friendly airline many Australians have come to rely on for affordable travel options, has just revived a much-missed international flight route.

After a hiatus of 15 years, travellers can once again fly directly from Sydney to Osaka, Japan, without the hassle of stopovers or additional connections.

The route's reintroduction is a testament to the enduring appeal of Japan as a travel destination and the growing desire for international travel as the world recovers from the restrictions of the past few years.

Jetstar's commitment to affordable travel is evident in the offering of more than 100,000 low-cost fares starting at $363, making the dream of exploring Japan more accessible than ever.

The thrice-weekly service will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, an aircraft renowned for its passenger comfort and fuel efficiency, ensuring a pleasant journey to one of Asia's most vibrant destinations.

Jenn Armor, Jetstar's Executive Manager of Customers, said, ‘Australians’ love for Japan continues to grow, and the strength of the Australian dollar against the Yen means it’s incredibly affordable right now.’

‘This is the third direct service we’ve launched from Australia to Japan in the last six months and the second to Osaka, with strong demand for our existing flights.’

As the food capital of Japan, Osaka has so much to offer Aussie travellers, with incredible night markets, street stalls and Michelin star restaurants.’

Flights depart Sydney on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11:20 am. The return flights from Osaka to Australia will take off on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9: 25 pm.

Last January, held its ‘Return for Free’ international sale, where travellers can book an outbound fare from Sydney to Tokyo or Osaka, and they can return for free on select dates.

The sale was available only for a 72-hour window, which offered incredibly cheap fares.

I wouldn't fly Jetstar even if they gave me a free flight. They have such a bad reputation and have had since they started up. The amount of people they book with Jetstar then are surprised when the flights are cancelled. I would pay that bit extra for a flight with the knowledge I won't have to sit in the airport for days until they start flying again or get a plane that doesn't have some issue. I know they are mechanical issues but Jetstar seems to have a lot more mechanical issues than the other airlines
