Transform your kitchen and save more space with this genius $8 Kmart storage solution

Kmart has long been a treasure trove for savvy shoppers seeking affordable solutions to everyday problems.

The latest find to cause a stir among the store's loyal fan base is a basket that's revolutionising home organisation.

Originally found in the laundry section, one innovative mum has repurposed Kmart’s $8 Magnetic Basket to solve a common household dilemma—the chaos of scattered drink bottles.

With a weight limit of three kilos, the plastic basket snugly accommodates four drink bottles and attaches effortlessly to the side of the fridge, providing a neat, out-of-sight storage solution.

'Used these on the side of the fridge for the mountains of drink bottles we apparently need. They are from the laundry section, $8 and magnetic,' the woman shared on social media, posting a picture of her feat showing four neatly arranged baskets on the side of her fridge.

The response from fellow Kmart enthusiasts was overwhelmingly positive, with many hailing it as one of the 'best' tip they’d come across.

'This is a great idea, instead of me storing them in my cupboard and taking up valuable Tupperware space,' one person commented.

'This is awesome! Thank you for sharing. You’ve just changed my life,' another added.

While a third said, 'Best hack I’ve seen on this page! Running to Kmart now.'

The clever tip sparked a wave of creative storage solution ideas among the group, with suggestions ranging from using the baskets for lunch boxes, mail, bills, kids’ homework, and even first aid storage.

While most people were impressed with the idea, some expressed doubts about the strength of the magnet and its functionality.

Concerns were raised about the weight of the drink bottles causing the container to slide, and potential scratches on the fridge from the magnet.

However, several shoppers said the magnet on the back is large and robust, making it difficult to dislodge.

The original poster also reassured other users the container didn’t scratch her fridge.

Online reviews of the product on Kmart’s website were equally positive, with multiple five-star ratings and several confirming the strength and functionality of the magnet.

'I use mine on the side of my fridge with fly sprays. The magnet is really strong and does not slip down the fridge at all,' one person wrote.

While another added: 'I bought three of these, and they work very well. I use two on the outside of my laundry sink, and the third is on the side of my fridge with ten rolled-up tea towels. They make life really easy!'

'Magnet is quite strong. I use it in the kitchen in a farmhouse so put in wooden spoons and small kitchen utensils and holds up well, doesn't fall down,' a third shared.

I use a similar one with a lid on the side of my washing machine to hold the strips I use for washing. Saves so much space.

I like storing everything in cupboards not outside it, if I can't fit everything in a cupboard then it's time to clearout items
I’m the same, everything behind closed doors lol. We moved recently and we now have a butlers pantry - best thing ever, kettle, toaster, food processor etc all put away out of sight but I don’t have to go rummaging for stuff

A butlers kitchen is definitely on my list when I'm looking for a new house

Yes, we have the same set up.
A step further for us was to build our home without a dedicated laundry. I don't need a whole room to do a wash and fold some laundry. We put our washing machine under the bench in the butler's pantry and keep everything in pretty containers, or sight unseen.

Great idea. But we have a small laundry which doubles as a pet care room. The dog and cat get fed in there and the cat litter is in there too. Another thing tucked away, well obviously I need to leave the door open a little so the animals have access but mainly out of sight
