A popular figure on the racing world and well-known as the partner of racing icon Peter Brock, Bev's death has left a void in the hearts of many.
Bev Brock, often referred to as the 'former wife' of Peter Brock, despite never officially marrying, was a pillar of strength and support in the motorsport industry.
Her family confirmed the sad news, revealing that she had been battling stage 4 cancer for the past two years.
Bev's dedication to her family was unparalleled.
Her son, James Brock, took to social media to express his admiration for his mother, writing: ‘Bev was a dedicated parent, always making time to make a costume for plays or help out on a school camp.’
But her role extended far beyond the family home; she was instrumental in Peter Brock's racing career, taking on multiple roles with skill and intelligence.
The Herald Sun reported that Bev passed away peacefully at her Melbourne home on Sunday, April 7.
Her relationship with Peter spanned nearly three decades, and together they had two children, Alexandra and Robert.
Bev also had a son, James, from her first marriage to James McIntosh.
The end of Bev and Peter's relationship in 2005 was followed by Peter's engagement to Julie Bamford and his untimely death in a rally crash in Perth in 2006.
Despite the complexities of their personal lives, Bev was a figure of composure and generosity. She was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for her contributions to motorsport and became a high-profile figure in her own right.

‘To me, I see the human side of him, the vulnerable side, the side that wasn’t so much the public figure. I saw a side that really was very private. He didn’t like anybody to see inside,’ she wrote.
