A middle-aged American couple were on a trip to the Holy Land when the wife suddenly took ill and died. The husband consulted the US Embassy in Tel Aviv and asked for help in dealing with his wife's remains.
He was offered two alternatives: the body could be flown back to the USA for a little over $5,000, which would take about a week to arrange, or a local burial could be obtained there in Israel within two days for under $500.
After some thought the man said that he would have the body flown back to the USA for burial there.
"May I ask why you did not take the cheaper option?" asked the man from the Embassy.
"Well I heard that about 2,000 years ago a guy was crucified here and he was buried locally.
I'm taking no chances."
