If you are thinking of purchasing this security, be sure to read all the fine print . It has been around for at least three years. I missed the first great offer of $2.00, but did buy later. I had previously been using trend micro, which i was happy with. Next year did not purchase . This year i had the offer of $3.00 , and did not make the connection that i had used it before. , So purchased .
what i don’t like about it is that you have to turn on the VPN- virtual private network. Once you turn it on with trend micro it stays on. Recently while checking something else, i discovered , that after paying the $3.00, there was another charge of $90 or $99.00. Sneaky and not so cheap after all. Other than the bon it works well, but so does trend micro. , of which various features are available . Good protection is not cheap, but well worth having . I would not be without it . Just read the fine print if you can. I must have found it too small, for me to have missed the second payment.

I have been using Trend Micro for years and have found it to be quite effective, and, especially given the number of devices I can cover, cost effective. I don't know all the computer ins and outs, I just know I pay one fee for protection on desktop, 2 mobiles and 2 tablets. There is room for 2 more devices if needed. In the package there is protection inclusive of emails, sms, call scammers, banking and so it goes on.
We are not gamers or prolific downloaders, just basic consumers. So, it's easy for me to keep watch, as well as Trend.
I guess we should all ensure we have the right cover for our needs. But, we need to be covered.

Get out of it and get a refund - they lied and misled you.
Then go back to your trusted, tried and true option you like or find another well known one. I've been with the same one net security company for 16 years and have never had it let me down once (I never let anyone know which it is as i see it as a security breach to let it be known) I also have a fantastic VPN from another well known company (again NOT letting anyone know which one) - Never use everything the same brand if one is compromised then the lot is then if you do but if you use different you still have coverage.

I used to use a good free one for many years, but the software that comes with Windows 10 now is good enough and I don't bother with any other anti virus software now, especially if I have to pay for it.
However, I have Malwarebytes and CC Cleaner in the background if I need it.
