Tina Arena cancels Love Saves World tour

Australian singer Tina Arena recently made a surprising announcement that has left her fans in shock.

The 55-year-old singer—for the first time in her long career—has postponed the remaining Australian shows of her Love Saves World tour due to illness.

Arena shared a black-and-white photo of her band on social media and wrote: ‘Hi everyone… I have to postpone the rest of my Australian shows.’

‘Believe me when I say, it was a hard decision. But remember, health always comes first. Therefore, to ensure it won’t happen again... here we are.’

She also assured her fans and advised them to ‘hold onto your tickets’, stressing there would be more details soon.

‘I wish you all the very best, and my sincere apologies for any inconvenience,’ she concluded the post, signing off as ‘T’.

It's anticipated that the shows will be moved to 2024.

On Saturday, Arena performed in Sydney and thanked everyone who ‘made it out to the start of the Love Saves World tour’. She performed in Perth the next day.

Sunrise's Entertainment Editor Peter Ford stressed that Arena ‘doesn’t miss shows, she’s old school—if you have a gig booked, you do it’.

‘On her Instagram post, she actually said that this is the first time ever (that she has cancelled). Now, how long has Tina been around... 40 years?’

With nearly 47 years in show business, Arena first gained fame on the TV show ‘Young Talent Time’. She started as a contestant in 1974 and by 1976, she had joined the main cast.

‘Fingers crossed she is getting good care and the attention that she needs,’ Ford said.

Ford mentions that while the Australian tour is on hold, Arena still intends to meet commitments in Los Angeles and London as scheduled.

‘But for Tina to cancel is something, I hope she is okay,’ the editor continued.

He further added that Arena seemed in ‘good form’ during her recent performance over the weekend, suggesting a sudden change occurred between then and the time of the announcement.

Regarding what the ‘health’ issue is, Ford stressed that she’s chosen not to disclose specifics.

‘The very fact that the promoters are saying it is an illness and Tina herself is saying “I have to look after my health” rather than the usual thing of scheduling conflicts and all that kind of stuff, those code words they use—instead they are openly saying, “She is sick”.’

Meanwhile, Arena’s friends and followers shared their support.

‘Such a hard decision… but you are right… without our health, we have nothing. Love you Jx,” comedian Julia Morris said.

‘Take care of you darling heart,’ designer Aurelio Costarella wrote.

‘Health first always, but I know how hard it is to postpone things. Sending love ❤️ Your audience cares about you, the human being, and will wait,’ singer-songwriter Debbie Gibson said.
