TikTok home hacks star drops the secret to a sparkling, grime-free kitchen – “Works SO well!”

One of our favourite organisation gurus here at the SDC came through, yet again, with a cleaning tip that’s so impressive that her video racked up nearly 150k views in the span of just a few days.

If you’re struggling to keep your kitchen spotless but aren’t a fan of using harsh chemicals, reaching out for Mama Mila’s DIY cleaning spray is the way to go.

The cleaning queen swears by a combination of white vinegar, water, lemon juice, and dishwashing liquid to effectively clean her kitchen, including the stove and splashback areas.

She generously sprays the concoction on her stove as well as the backsplash mirror multiple times each week to keep them squeaky clean and safe from stubborn stains.

If you’re wondering how to make the spray, Chantel adds a cup of white vinegar, half a cup of water, a tablespoon of lemon juice, and a tablespoon of dish soap to a spray bottle before shaking the ingredients together to combine them.

“This is an acidic mix to tackle grease on stovetops and splashbacks,” she explained.

However, some users were concerned about the smell of vinegar lingering. In response, she reassured her followers that the sour smell fades almost instantly but suggested adding a few drops of essential oil if you’d prefer removing the odour completely.

The spray is relatively safe to use on various types of surfaces such as stainless steel and will not cause any staining.

Chantel posted her cleaning hack on both TikTok and Instagram where she amassed hundreds of comments, with several followers thanking her for the natural cleaning solution.

“Whoa, I love this. It’s so powerful, just tried it out! Thank you for sharing, really appreciate it.” said one woman.

“I love having the bare minimum amount of chemicals in the house,” wrote another. “This is one to save for sure.”

“This tip is so fabulous! It’s amazing what you can do with natural non-chemical products.” added a third.

“Yum! The lemon juice would smell so good.” commented one more.

The TikTok sensation also opts for a mixture containing vinegar, water, and two tablespoons of vanilla extract in a spray bottle to freshen up her fridge.

She runs through every single shelf, labelled tubs, crisper, and side compartments to make sure she doesn’t miss a spot.

“The vanilla extract ensures no odours waft as food ages or seeps into cracks,” she added.

When it comes to cleaning her sink, Chantel drizzles some baby oil on the stainless steel and buffs it in with a cloth to keep it sparkling for longer.

It's also a great trick to use on taps, bathroom sinks, and shower handles for a blindingly clean result – just make sure you buff the oil well to prevent a greasy finish.

Last but not least, her final hack involves placing used coffee grounds on a shelf in her fridge to banish stinky fridge odours for good.

After brewing a cup of coffee, she pops a small container filled with leftover coffee grounds in her fridge for a fresh, relaxing scent every time the door is opened.

“I like the idea of adding vanilla to the vinegar water. Coffee grinds in the fridge is a great idea,” one user wrote.

“Great hacks! Your sink is SO shiny,” another praised.

“Will try that cleaning spray out! The baby oil one sounds handy too,” a third wrote.

Mama Mila definitely has no shortage of incredible home hacks. From chemical-free tricks to making your home smell amazing to getting rid of stubborn fabric stains, this cleaning queen has you covered.

Good grief! This is no secret! I've been making a mixture like this only I use eucalyptus oil instead of lemon juice for years. Its a common simple savings measure to make cleaners like this.

I also like using a non toxic cleaner.
I use unscented Castile liquid soap from the bulk store.
A 500ml bottle costs $16.
I use a 500ml spray bottle. Fill it with 50ml Castile liquid then add 450ml water to dilute it.
It lasts for ages and cleans kitchen benches, stove, fridge, bathroom vanity, etc. etc.
Even spot cleaning floors.
Not so good for the shower. For this I use Gumption and elbow grease.
